first thing i EVER do is change the radiator cap. it is actually cheaper to try that than to take the car in to a mechanic for a pressure test...a good mech will pressure test the cap as well. if the system cannot hold pressure it will simply boil over.

Is that why I can hear it boiling in the over flow after I run the truck hard???

probably..any time the system cannot hold pressure the water is allow to boil..

my MIL's car did this..white stuff everywhere. i got it hot and noted a tiny water leak between the plastic radiator tanks and the fins section. new radiator time. i got that white residue because since it was the top seal that leaked, the wind from driving and the fan blew it everywhere.

If the radiator cap didn't fix it, you still have a leak. Flourescent dye, and a black light will help find the small leaks. You'll need a dark garage to find the source.

Have you looked at the water pump's shaft, and found any coolane crust? How is your engine temp looking, while this is going on?

I too would like to know. I noticed my truck bleeding today and when I popped the hood it was pink all over. top of the radiator has a little pink liquid all around, dripping under the length of the radiator underneath but primarily the passenger side and the plastic res on the driver side seems low. Temp gauge never spiked while driving. no noises as far as I could tell. I figure I can try a new cap but am curious to know what else I should check. Thanks!

Sounds like you may need a new radiator, I'd bet OP needs a head gasket replacement.

    Original with factory replacement parts.
I did not read through all the replies, so sorry if this is a repeat.

To see if head gasket is blown, pull each spark plug. Coolant does a great job in cleaning spark plugs.
If 1 plug is clean, there's the problem. If all plugs are the same, then it's probably something else.

OP has likely buried the truck due to frame rust sometime over the ELEVEN YEARS since he noticed the coolant leak…
