You live in Western NC and you don't offroad? How is that possible? I thought the roads were washed away!

I didn't notice you had a 2nd Gen. Here is what my 2nd Gen looked like on 235/85/16

Hell yeah! Love it. That's exactly the look I want. I really want a set of 16-hole style steelies in white to go with them, but the reality is that I'm probably going to get some OEM alloys because they're only 23+/- per tire and the steels are all above 30.

I'm a little unsure about adding 'E'-class/10 ply tire weight given that there's not really a use case for me. If I could find some that aren't much heavier than 245s I would be a lot more confident, but it seems like every 235 option is adding 5-10 lbs/tire. Maybe I'm wrong? I'm open to new information and suggestions.

It's my daily and while I also work the truck around town and on bad/gravel roads, I can't really justify heavy tires and wheels just for aesthetics. The power and mileage loss seems pretty significant.

Already had the pizza cutters. But here it is with 6112's (2" lift) and ome el1112 leaf pack.

For all wondering, they fit fine before. Only rubbed 1 time(uca) in 4x4 full stuff, full turn driver, making a u turn.

Looks awesome. Did you get an alignment done after getting the new tires?

@Bravesfan1995 not after just the new tires, they fit/worked stock (for about 1.5 years now); however, I did have to get an alignment after wheeling them for a while...mainly after an unfortunate boulder incident.

I also needed one after lift and new UCA's. But that's more for camber correction than fitment. There's lots of space in the wheel wells now....setting up for 35's in the future.

235/85r16 trd pro rims, camburg +3.5" long travel. 13" of travel with stock fenders. This wouldn't be possible with 265 or 285. Everyone thinks my truck is stock with spacers.

Thanks brotha! Didn’t even have to worry about rubbing after the chop!

I need to make my way down and check out what you’ve been doing. The videos look mental!

Gotcha. I’m gonna get 255/85r16s put on next week. I guess so long as they fit stock alignment, I wouldn’t need an alignment? Or is an alignment needed bc they’re bigger and could sit differently than 265s?

Bigger tires don't change the alignment. The reason for alignment is because you are spending a bunch of money on tires and if your alignment is off (e.g. tow), you're scrubbing away your money.

Not sure about rubbing with that size. I'll let someone else comment.

Most don't rub. Some do, if you do it'll be minor (mud flaps, plastic in wheel well, or UCA at full stuff).

    Rim offset is largest contributor.

I don’t expect rubbing. Fingers crossed. I have 2” in front, 2.5” in the rear and factory trd OR wheels, so +25mm. Other option I had in mind was to just go with 265/75r16s… but I know I’d have regrets little ways down the road. Mostly concerned about weight of the 255s but I’m sure it’ll be fine

I run 255/85/16s on TRD Pro Factory Fox suspension - love em! MPG dropped a little but that is life with oversized tires. Another fact of life with oversized tires - chopping. Anybody else experience this? Haven’t seen it mentioned much. I threw in balance beads, that tends to help a little.

Put some 235/85/R16 Yokohama Geolandar A/T4s on. Less aggressive than my previous tires but so far have done well on pavement and in heavy rain_DSC9504.jpg IMG_2669.jpg IMG_2668.jpg
