Anybody know about residential solar panel systems? I need to clean mine and I want to shut them off. Here is a picture of the equipment where it ties into the house. There are two different disconnects. One on the first plastic box, the black rotary switch. Then the one on the smaller grey metal box that is a big lever. They both seem like they will completely disconnect the system. Does it matter which one I shut off? Also can I simply shut one(or both) off and then right back on when Im done cleaning the panels on the roof?

Poke it with a flathead screwdriver until you see God.

    Then it's probably off.:burp:

I have/had a sport! Converted to A 4x with some Frankenstein parts from an Fj, 4R and another Tacoma:sawzall::welder:. I enjoy the hood scope and took the plastic bullshit out of it and get some forced air to help cool the engine bay..

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Not being a jackass for once. Genuine curiosity, wouldn't opening the scoop be a bit irrelevant with the intake as it is? I get keeping temps lower in the bay, but I suppose I wouldn't think we'd be moving fast enough when that matters as much. :mudding:

Edit to add: I suppose even just having it as an escape route for some of the heat makes it useful enough.

The scoop isnt hooked up to my intake but just thought the forced air into the bay would help with a little heat? I have no info to prove/disprove its "working", but seems to be a little different. The scoop is just for looks and originally remove the plastic insert to add a small light bar in place. I never purchased the light and left it open.
Adding the bumper, and a secondary trans cooler, and two electric fan it seems to block a little more breathing room from the front. Was hopping the scoop would add a little more movement to the bay?

With the bumper and open wheel wells you're probably getting more air from below than up top, which would mean putting louvers in the hood would extract air more rapidly than a scoop.

Louvers excite me. Turbo heat made it more necessary too I just haven't found the exact ones I want yet

Different kind of scoop but I notice a trickle of smoke from the vented oil catch can streaming out of my snorkel from time to time so I know it's pulling heat out of the engine bay

Don't forget the gurney flap to disrupt the boundary layer over the hood, It's often as simple as just bending the first slot up almost perpendicular.

Cutting the Miata's hood open was a pucker moment for sure but they came out so well, it looked so frickn badass!

    You need to shut both.
The white box rotary is your solar panel DC switch. That stops the PV voltage from the panels to the inverter that converts to AC which then goes to the Solar meter.
The grey disconnect is your connection from the Solar meter to your main electrical panel and meter.
You want to kill that to eliminate any possibility of voltage back feed from APS main to the solar system.
Disconnect/shut off both. Lock out, Tag out both. Double check with a meter to be safe.
You can also call or text me. You have my number
