On my drive home from Austin, I noticed that the driver's side Black moulding on the top of bed's side wall started flapping with the strong winds and my 70+ mph speed.

Has anyone on TW experienced this and what adhesive or bonding agent did you use to glue it back in place?

What is the proper name and the product number for this part?

That is held in by plastic tabs on the underside. Are they still there or did they snap off?

Someone may have tried to steal it and the tabs broke so they abandoned the idea. I don’t know the part number but it’s the LH Bedrail cap.

I second that. I think they are not very expensive to replace.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I’d try some 3M double sided adhesive tape for moldings.

    It's a nice truck.
replace clips with oem if needed instead of jury rigging

The clips are molded in the bed rail plastic. They are not added on.

    The clips broke off.

The previous owner was hauling boulders or heavy debris. The bed liner and sides took a beating.

The Black moulding on top of tail gate is also loose and can be lifted easily.

The one on the passenger side of the bed is still intact and not budging yet but in time it will start flapping with strong air flow.

Hopefully you got a good deal so you can invest in some repairs. If you are going to use it for a work truck I would just tape them down with 3M double sided tape as someone else mentioned.

I don’t know if you can have a spray in liner or not put on these composite beds? It might be worth looking into it would definitely clean up that bed.

I was curious about if it would adhere to the composite. How well is yours holding up? Thanks

the weight of a topper should compress the tape and rail enough to make a seal? idk. i didnt seal mine before i got my topper. now water leaks in when i go through car washes. whatever though.

I think you misunderstood the thread OP is not installing a topper he wants to put the bed rail cap back on that has the clips broken off hence the double sided tape. If it was mine though I would just replace it.

good in the areas that get abuse ( the rear and bedsides). I have a cargo glide slider so the bed floor isnt abused
