Just bought this vehicle 4k miles ago and apparently didn’t do my due diligence. Went in for my first oil change and I’m being told I need a new steering rack. I’ve attached the link with the video they sent me. 2020 Trd sport with 58k miles. Do I need to do this now? Contemplating just trading it in and taking the hit.

Clean it up, top it off, and give it a minute to see what's actually going on...
    It's not an emergency.

And, in the future, never have your truck worked on by a tattoo dealer.

You can live with a leak if it is slow and you keep the reservoir full.

I'm confused as to why you're taking your vehicle to a tattoo parlor to get maintenance done to it.

It's common to see steering rack leaks like this on 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas and 4th/5th gen 4Runners. You have some time before the leak gets severe enough for fluid top ups to become a nuisance.

OP, is it power steering fluid or ink that’s leaking? If it’s ink you better get a rack quick.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Just wrap it in clear Saran Wrap like a new tattoo to stop any leaking.

It’s been 2 days since I’ve topped it off and the reservoir doesn’t appear to be any lower. Given I’ve only had the vehicle a short amount of time and just discovered this I’m not sure how slow/fast it’s leaking. I think for now I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks !

That would be a pretty unique tattoo. I did a quick Google search, and very little came up. I suppose if you got tired of people's confused reactions when you explained what it was, you could just say it's some sort of Star Wars tech.

You mean the oil that's still draining from the oil change? Yeah, it's pissing but it's not power steering fluid. lol
