Rode the bike in to work this morning for the first time this year. 37* when I left the house was a bit chilly on the legs, I'm just thankful for heated grips. It's already 62* and climbing now though so the ride home here shortly should be great.

Just got back from a two hour ride on the GSXR. Damn that bike is fast. I took out the baffle because it felt like the power was choked a bit. I was correct on that. With the baffle in it couldn’t lift the front tire in 1st gear. Baffle out it comes up quick. Baffle will stay out.

The ride home will be perfect.

Having bought used, my bike came with an Easy Block. I've yet to use it, as I haven't really left my bike anywhere yet. Last night, I decided to tighten up my chain and realized it's kinda a PITA with this thing on there. Once unlocked, you remove a set screw that holds the lock from pulling out, pull the lock, then remove the zirk fitting, and run a longish alan wrench through the zirk hole to losen another set screw that holds a cup in place over your axle nut. Once that is off, you have access to the nut, but it's recessed into the body of the entire unit. Had to get a 24 mm socket and use a breaker bar. The guy gave me the parts in case I wanted to remove the lock, so it's easy enough for me to swap it.

    upload_2025-4-18_13-24-38.png

Think I should remove it so it's easier to deal with the nut with a regular old 24mm box end wrench? Or just make sure I bring the tools if I'm going on a LONG ride some day? Just seems if trying to keep things light, an axle wrench is smaller and lighter than a breaker bar and big 24mm socket.

Between it and the steeting lock though... It does seem pretty good security...

Does that thing lock the sprocket?

yes, it slides inward and fits into the sprocket.

How often do you think you'll need to adjust your chain? Not very often, especially on a low power bike that isn't going to stretch it like a big bike. That's kinda neat security bit, except if you forget to unlock it of course

Yeah, I'm leaning towards keeping it. The manual makes you think you'll need to every 600 miles, but I have no idea what real world will be like.

And if I do forget it... well, i'll only make it about 2 or 3 inches til I find out!

First time I've seen that, and I'm a locksmith. Pretty cool idea, too bad it interferes with chain maintenance.
Around here, a fork lock or cable just keeps the honest people honest, and detours the lazy thieves. When bikes get stolen, it's either a few big dudes and a pickup truck, or taken while it's sitting in the driveway and you're inside gearing up.

I keep going back and forth on both. Might pick up the 2 bottles for the hell of it, as they (in my mind) will take a beating better. GL has sent me another coupon. Damn if they aren’t trying to get me to use it. Haha

I received my new blast gun and foot pedal today. Install it and didn’t some blasting. The new vacuum system is amazing. Takes all dust out while blasting. Also has a place on the bottom to dump the media. I was able to recover a lot. Way better than what I was using. So now it’s time to clean all the parts real well and get them in the oven to for degassing. Then it’s powder time!!

Finally got out in some dirt this afternoon, still snow in the trees though. Tried getting the front end up, takes around 7-8k rpm and clutch dump from stopped, not sure how long the discs can take that sort of effort.

Well hit my first powder oven fail. The in-line fan lasted but 5 min. Obviously can’t take the heat. Also need to put a 1” vent pipe in the top. I washed my parts and the offgassed them. The temp of the parts reached 400 and that was a win. What wasn’t is I did the steps wrong. Wash first, sand blast second, wipe down with alcohol then powder. Blasting, Washing then placing them in the oven cause rusty streaks in the metal parts. So I am going to reblast everything real quick. Then drill a 1” hole for a pipe vent and just ignore the fan for now.

Cracked 1100 miles today good ride but high winds suck. Ended up giving myself a migraine from it. Felt like a bobble head doll. 86° but 20 to 30mph winds. Parked up a little over a hour ago. I feel beat up.
