Just the casters were assembled in the US.

Do you have casters in this kit or should I plan on ordering some? Figured I'd be sourcing the cushions too yeah?

So here's the breakdown of parts needed, and what I'm including.

Kit will look like this (not shown is the 4" long piece of 1.75" diameter tube for the center) and it'll be shipped USPS flat rate medium box.

    20250406_141427.jpg

The people that expressed interest already have a stool cushion in mind, or have one from a stool they're replacing, etc.

Another guy said he bought one on Amazon for $40 and used that. Restaurant seat cushions are found everywhere.

So you'll need a cushion, as well as 5 casters or 5 leveling feet, whichever way you wish to go. You'll want to figure out what you want to use for the center as some may opt for all thread which is significantly cheaper and normally found locally at Tractor Supply or similar. Keep in mind that all thread is a lot weaker. I used 1" diameter ACME rod along with 2 nuts and an ACME threaded handle.

The handle I added for convenience, but you can just use a third nut to act as a lock nut. I used one temporarily with some large pliers and it worked perfectly fine. Placement of the first nut I assume would go under the stool cushion mount I provide, with the second one going inside the tube for the threaded rod to sit inside of.

Backrest was totally overkill and unnecessary, but I'm extra. That and having a bad back I figured why the hell not.

If you go with casters, I recommend getting at minimum one caster with some sort of lock. Ideally you should get two this way when you sit down the chair doesn't roll out from underneath you. The casters I got were 'premium' and the stool will roll away even if you look at it wrong.

If you go with the ACME rod, don't go longer than 18" as it'll sit too tall and will be off balance. I only went this long just to have extra wiggle room but I will normally have this chair sit at 24".

In the end, it'll cost you as much as you want to spend, but definitely more than something you can buy online. The satisfaction here is that you'll be welding up your own, and you can go about it as you wish.

I'll tag you in the thread I made so you can see the entire thing from start to finish.
