    @TacoTuesday603

Real talk, if you have any questions or concerns over your setup feel free to hit me up.

I do encourage you ask here though, just so that everyone can learn from whatever issue you're having.

No such thing as a stupid question when it comes to do this stuff, and if I can save you some trial and error, I'll do what I can.

I’m right outside of Concord. Yeah I need a compressor for this and was also thinking of going the used route

Be mindful of used tanks though that don't get drained daily after use.

A used compressor motor is no biggie, but a tank? That's one that gets me paranoid.

I feel pretty safe cause my compressor is in another room. If it was right next to me I would have a bigger concern

Good point. I want to build a small shed for outdoor placement but afraid it'll be too loud for neighbors.

The air compressor being inside doesn't bug anyone, and I only run it indoors cause it's about a year old.

Neighbors? My closest one is probably 150 ft from my shop and I make stuff for him all the time. We go fishing and everything so I think if he had an issue he would bring it up

Is your table still setup? Could you grab a measurement of the table height where the workpiece is to the ground? Thinking the table will double as a chopsaw support

My neighbor (closest) is never there, at least not whenever I'm running shop which is always after 9am but never after 6pm.

The benefit of having neighbors that own their own businesses, including some out of town :bananadance:

Still, I do the things I do out of consideration.

Using two tape measures, both measure at 30.75" from the ground up to the top of the slat.

Thanks it’s gunna go in this corner. Need to stick some steel up on the walls around it.

We could easily have a 3 page discussion on air compressors and dryers.

I'm plant air tech, so I understand the huge amounts of water that can be produced from compressing air.

I also understand the dangers of using used storage tanks (receivers). (It's not as bad as the internet makes it out to be, be we all know the news loves drama).

I hope I'm not stepping on the OP's thread, but ask a question and I'll bet we as a collective can answer it.

Any and all air questions/comments should be shared!

Air covers powder coating, sand blasting, paint, plasma cutting, and whatever else I'm forgetting which can all aid in manufacturing ;)

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
This is the first setup I’ve owned with an automatic tank purge system. I set it to about very 1 - 1.5 minutes in then summer. It is a rotary screw setup that is very quiet though. The basement it is located in is climate controlled
plus the air dryer A/C setup along with an inline air/oil filter and desiccant setup that I change out about once a month.

Are you noticing a large amount of water being discharged?
Do you track the relative humidity in the area of the compressor intake? If it's fairly static from the home central air moderating the humidity, the need to change the dump valve parameters is reduced. Sounds like you are on top of this.

Rotory screw compressors are the best units for supplying air to a CNC table...if you do long cuts. They supply the required pressure needed no matter how long the cut.

If a person is doing small batches, then the RS compressor may be overkill. I'm not sure many of us here could benifits from a RSC. A person needs to do the math to be sure.

    Agree!

I still need to make one for myself. All those I make are just for giving away - you sell them on the forum so I just use them as local gifts or things like that drawing I did recently.

I got 1 left. It's a bit of a custom version, it's overlaid on a disc of chromed tread plate. I havent tried to sell it. I was actually thinking about donating it for another raffle. I got too many other projects going. I don't want to deal with selling at the moment.

If you want me to post a pic, we can do another raffle. I just want to have some fun.
