    THIS!!!!

As a buyer, I try to never click that reply, and instead ask a more detailed question. Had an offer today countered, and then crickets.

Just grinding it out lately, had a number of small issues been working out due to one thing or another.
The whole front end/3 link is tacked into place, big hang up is RCV on my custom shaft. Fingers crossed it'll ship next week (been told it was shipping in 1-2 weeks for the past 4 weeks). Per the phone calls it was getting oxided and inspected then shipped.
Jumped to the back to get a bit of a change of pace, whipped up a rear cross member and getting some new shocks mounted up.
Have a Moab trip planned late May that is my hard deadline.

We were going to stay through Memorial Day weekend but I usually stay away from the holiday crowds. We’re leaving on the 23rd and headed to steamboat for the rest of the weekend.

All the mods; all the problems
I'm "done" added hydro bumps last weekend and will be getting some customed tuned shocks next week to wrap things up other than whatever I decide to tinker on... oh upgrading the rear axle... I'm going to Moab next weekend. Ran chinamans again last weekend. The truck performs great. Trail gear leaf springs suck, I'll probably order Alcan springs at some point. Overall things came out very well for the first go around. It drives straight down the highway no problems whatsoever. Honestly, it drives way better than my third gen tacoma.

Here’s a dumb question that popped into my head the other day.

I hate the brake proportioning valve on the 1st gen. I know when we did the suspension on my 98 the brake line past the BPV was bone dry. The f’ker probably hadnt truly worked in years.

My 04 braking sucks in the mountains. With varying bed loads and passenger occupancy. I suspect it has a lot to do with the BPV not functioning properly either.

I know some of you have eliminated it and added valving in the engine bay.

My question: would t it make sense to have better access to that valving, say in cab (this is where the dumbness comes into play) so that you can adjust it as bed loads get lighter/heavier?

The only real concern I'd have would be being absolutely certain that the fittings were perfect, as I wouldn't want brake fluid leaking inside the cab.
That being said, I'd want a location that is reasonably out of the way, but accessible for adjustment - I'm thinking maybe the corner between the front right of the driver's seat, and the transmission tunnel, so that it's not likely to get hit accidentally. Fabricate a bracket to hold the valve securely in that location, and then plumb the lines through the floor immediately adjacent the valve, with rubber grommets to protect the lines - so that there would be little chance of inadvertently hitting the lines and kinking or collapsing them.
Good luck, with whatever you decide.

Oh yeah forgot to clarify this: I’m not skilled enough to pull this off myself.

Just throwing the idea out there as a conversation starter.

I’d just fix the BPV or verify that it’s working and add a bracket to adjust for the lift that you still need to install. It worked fine* in my 2003, so I don’t think it is inherently a flawed design. I bet that bro lift that came with the truck has made it ineffective.

*I also did the Tundra brake upgrade so maybe those just took over the braking functionality and I didn’t notice it, it driving off pavement (dirt/sand/snow), I never thought that the rear brakes weren’t working because the truck braked correctly in turns without the rear end sliding our or the front end doing anything weird.
