    @RustyGreen

This is how the engraving looks after I fill it.
After it dries, I finish the surface with 400, 600, 1000, 2000, 5000 grit sandpaper and water.

Looks like a good haul!

With the flat steel sides on your trailer some stake pockets might be a nice addition.

    Weld on:

    2001273.jpg

    Or bolt on:

Then you can use these nifty drop in tie downs:

It is thankfully still a FREE country! :oldglory:

I don't think youth ever truly listens to there seniors. It's a natural rebelliousness in our species. Of course my seniors didn't tell me not to put 10" subs and an 200 watt amp in my little Isuzu pickup. But I think that was because they didn't have the experience in their own youth. Cars back then his generation barely had FM radios, none had subs and amps in the 50s-70s. It wasn't until GenX the 80s that in-car stereos got loud, and the 90s before it became common.

A short piece of wire loom will hide that chrome shifter rod quickly!

I hadn’t considered the shifter rod! It might be the only piece of shiny stuff in the cab that doesn’t shine sun directly into my eyes

Congrats on the boards! Can't wait to see what you do with them!!

Is that a 6X10 trailer from TS? I've been looking for a utility trailer around 5-6' by 8-10'.

Do you have a brake controller set up? I've been eyeing the Trailer Pro by Redarc - plug and play with the 2nd Gen trailer package I got..

Also, that's got to be the most spacious console I've seen in a 2013 :D

yeah, i keep going back and forth on the stake pockets. i already bought a dozen weld-on d-rings for the purpose(6 per side likely isn't enough yet--probably need 10-12/side), but see an advantage to running bedside panels for material loads-- i want to lay gravel down on a part of the property for parking, and really don't want to use the truck for it.

last time i stared down the stake pockets at northern tool, i had decided i was letting the costs run away on me and skipped it. but i'm coming to terms with the fact that nothing about this project is cheap or economical, so they very well will get bought later.

    1956 Mercury Montclair

Under the hood is the new for 1956 V8 engine of 312 cubic inches, all Mercurys used this engine with a 4 barrel carburetor. These engines are frequently referred to as "Y blocks" due to the deep skirt of the block, well below the crankshaft centerline. This makes for a strong block and also a heavy one.

    1954-Ford-Y-Block-V8-314.jpg

The late 1950's & early 60's were a time of constant displacement growth and general engine improvements. The Y blocks were quickly passed by other manufacturers in displacement leading to Fords introduction of the larger "FE" series engines in 1958.
Offered in various displacements the Y block was last used in pick up trucks in 1965.
