Flint Davis was running through heavy fog, ended up hitting a center console guide boat with a handful of people on it. Last I saw was 3 deceased, and 3 more critically injured. Hate to see that kind of outcome. There's been a big handful of boating accidents throughout the big tournament trails recently; will be interested to see what (if any) rules they start to implement regarding safety. One I'd like to see is a mandatory motor leash on any competitors' boats; I can say with confidence that saved a good friends life recently when he hit some underwater debris running wide open and it tried to kick his motor up into the boat with him. Totaled boat and a life saved there. I'd like to see any boat capable of running over a certain mph be mandated to have it, but thats just my unwarranted opinion. Wouldn't have done anything for this MLF situation, but curious if anything safety related will come from it. Idk what the right thing is; obviously a boating accident can be deadly at nearly any speed. You can't cancel an event just bc its foggy either; it might be foggy in one area and not another. We don't cancel our jobs when its foggy, can't really expect them to cancel theirs either.
