New rubber just feels good going down the road.

Yep. And some brands certainly wear better than others, Michelin comes to mind, but old tires just lose their mojo after about 6 years. Especially heavy ones.

These are the Cooper Walmart specials, 620.00 installed. I had the AT3’s & paid 650.00 6 yrs ago. The truck spent so much time in traction, it was a shame how much tread was left. Funny how when they get inspected, they don’t check for how old they are, only how much tread is left. Anyway, Now the AT3’s would be 1250.00, if one can find them….

I’m not sure. I will say though, that for the 1st time in my life I qualified for the low mileage discount on my insurance. If I had to guess, I’d say 25-30,000.

An old friend of mine that I know from BMW circles designed the first Z rated tire, if I remember correctly, but either way...top notch tire guy. He has always told me that time and exposure to the sun is as big of a factor as wear. 6-8 years? They are done. 6 years and 30K miles isn't a bad run. A life well lived hehe.

Good stuff, I purchased the same exact item last month and I dig em. P265/75r16 (not E rated) for $131.50 apiece on sale from $146.00. Yep $625.00 installed out the door. Perfect for my use and they look good. I wish I would have gotten them on black friday they were $116.00 apiece. The other tire places are getting real proud of their rubber. This was a no brainer. Safe happy travels

That's really reasonable for good tires, well bought.

Just wanted to point out the Walmart warranty. My sis bought W/M tires, then Hurricane Harvey hit (full straight on). So very much debris it took over a year to remove it all. During that year she still had to commute to work and back. Couldn't avoid (or see) the nails/screws/scrap, unfortunately. She warrantied at least 20 (yes, twenty) tires within a year. W/M never blinked an eye. Impressed the hell out of me!

    Walmart in Rockport, TX.

If the rubber looks good, they are probably good, lots of factors at play. But once they start cracking they gotta go.

I went to work/rebuild down there in Rockport 3wks after Hurricane Harvey hit. We had a work house we all stayed at for work week and drove back to San Antonio on weekends. That Walmart, a couple gas stations and 1 bar were the only places open yet. Yeah there was debris EVERYWHERE. Although a terrible disaster good times playing poker and BBQ on rain days while working.
