I thought a grand was a good deal, but they never followed up about driver availability for that route

900 could be about normal, from where to where? It's about 900 for FL to VA and 1200-1900 and change for me to get something from the west to VA for open carry. Definitely don't need enclosed for your old truck.

I've been wanting an original Xbox all over again.

I don't see my cousin often enough to ask if he'd sell me back my original I sold him over 20 years ago.

Couldn't a 360 play all the original xBox games?

Or do you want the whole OG xBox experience?

I wouldn’t mind getting a PS2 to play Lego Star Wars, NBA 2k11, and star wars battlefront 2, just to relive my childhood a little.

I never owned a 360, but if the 360 can play the original games I'll take that too.

I've been wanting to play Project Gotham Racing 2 for the longest, and emulation just doesn't cut it.

Fun fact - I forget what track it was, but using the Porsche 911 GT1 I was among the top 100 in the entire world to score the highest kudo points. Sat on the Xbox Live records up until it was all shut down.

Had to refresh my memory, looks like it was just "select games": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

The 360 controller was slightly different the OG xBox as well. In my opinion it was a much better game pad overall but it didn't have the black and white buttons. I think they were replaced by the shoulder bumpers above the triggers?

I still have a 360 but didn't spend a ton of time with the OG xBox.

You said earlier that emulation doesn't cut it. What do you feel is missing?

I haven't messed with emulators in a long time (since PSX days, on a Pentium III) so I have no idea what the current state of the art is.

I've used (and still own) tons of emulators and roms on just about all my computers.

Xbox emulation is one that no one has really ever done right. I'm not a software guy to give you the specifics, but it's just a well-known thing for those into emulation.

Could be the way processes are handled maybe.

I'll normally skip PC emulation though and just fire up the original console - I haven't bothered with an Everdrive cart at all but kind of want to for my Sega Genesis and Nintendo. For my Dreamcast and Saturn I run ODE's which just replace the disc reader with flash media for my games.

Ironic that xbox emulation isn't good when the original hardware was basically an Intel PC. You could even jailbreak them to run Linux.

Yeah it isn't that hardware isn't up to snuff - it's just the way the emulators are written and/or the way a conventional PC handles said gaming?

Original Xbox hardware is weak compared to a modern cell phone even.

They were given to new owners in Japan for a minute if I remember correctly, but also were a a dealer accessory you could buy. Definitely not dummies, just 39mm quartz chronos. Still pop up on eBay at a decent chunk of change for a promo item.
    (Doubt they're sapphire.)

Any idea if these are from a ‘real’ partnership with Lexus or just overpriced alibaba specials

I still regret getting rid of my minidisc players, and its reinforced every time I get an itch to look on eBay again.

Right, it's definitely not a horsepower problem.

What I meant was, emulating similar hardware architectures (an Intel-based console on an Intel-based PC) seems like it should be easier than emulating a totally different architecture.

Of course, early consoles were dead simple even compared to an Intel system from 20+ years ago, so there's a lot more to consider than just the architecture.
