New rack is on, replaced all the lines as well which probably wasn’t needed but oh well. The bushings that came with the rack were garbage same with the inner tie rods. So replaced those with the install.

Also took the opportunity to install the durobumbs on the LCA. Still need to bleed the power steering and check for leaks but that’s a tomorrow problem.

Finished up this morning. Went for a drive around the parking lot and felt great. PS fluid bled pretty easily and no obvious leaks so far. Will take it for alignment sometime this week.

Primed & painted the mounting bracket for the AC compressor.Primer.jpg Paint.jpg

Laid the paint on a little too thick but it's good enough to keep things from rusting.

Painting parts always feels great. I have to fight myself to not paint things red all the time (for the extra horsepower)

Back from the alignment shop. Tried a new place this time and seems right on the money (for a lot of money).

Put on my replacement rear window from softtopper. It's a bit larger than the original but it looks better than the blue tape. So far I'm into it for less than1/2 the price of a new one.

Really digging that softtopper. I'm liking them enough that I'm girding myself to pay the price for a new one if I can't find a used one for mine.

    Thank you !!

I'm mixed about the looks but I love how light it is. I wish they were still making the Canback topper. But I'm happy that I found this one used it was on FB market place for a bit.

I understand the pain I've had sellers regret before too. I miss my old commercial topper.

    Looks great!

How did the gauge of the material compare to the OE unit, any thoughts or measurements on thickness?

    Thanks,

    Mike

The stock tin is pretty thin. This is definitely a little thicker. I'll get some measurements later for you.

Apparently. I picked this up like 3 years ago and. Maybe if they kept production in the US they wouldn't be able to copy them so easily.
