i went through the same internal debate before i got my electric mower--i had been using free scrap mowers i pulled out of the trash and rejuvenated for the last 5 years up to that point. yes, the battery versions are more expensive, but they can do the same work, with fractions of the maintenance requirements, and because they have less maintenance, should last far longer. reality? it's anyone's guess until we've all got hindsight into this newfangled technology.

 

I love me a good trash find! Throw a fresh air filter on, hit her with some carb cleaner, a blade sharpen and good to go!

 

I have the echo and I only use the gas in the can and it starts right up after months of not using it. It’s not greasy from the mixed fuel. Looks brand new.

 

This works perfectly for my camp shower.

 

What PSI do you use for that setup?

If you haven't already you should get a locking air chuck for the m18 inflator, it's definitely worth the money.
On my water tank I just lock it on and set the psi to 35 so I can run the water continuously with no pressure drop. And when inflating tires it's much nicer to not have to sit there holding the chuck in place.

Anyone have some opinions on the M12 and M18 vacuums? I've read many mixed reviews on both platforms. Not looking to replace my corded shop vac (got a heavy duty corded Ridgid) just need a compact and portable unit to take care of smaller clean ups like vacuuming debris around window screen frames.

 

love my m12 vac. Been very pleased with it.

the suction is more than enough for general “ sucking “ I use it my GX for just about everything. Never tried liquids and I always run it with a 5.0 HO battery on high.

 

I run a M12 vac with a 6.0 battery. Plenty of suction but not a lot of run time. Enough, just not a lot.

 

agreed. I get about 15min of runtime out of a 5.0 battery. But I was already invested in the 12v line to the point that switching batteries wasn’t really a problem.
