I brought this ad (below) to the dealer ordered one exactly like it, and added matching two tone below the side moldings, leather interior and a few other options: AM-FM Stereo w/Eight-Trac Tape Player and the color-keyed aluminum Turbine Wheels; A 302 V-8 was standard. A 351 or 400 V-8 was optional. The color of the roof, side moldings, interior and lower two-tone was more of a darker red cranberry color. It was delivered with 15" Michelin tires which was a big deal and pleasant surprise.I still have the original literature and manuals and the window sticker put away somewhere. The 1977 MSRP was half the price of the Lincoln-based 1976 T-Birds. ($10k+) Ford sold a ton of them.

It was the first new car I ever bought.

A buddy of mine had one almost exactly like that. He spent months restoring it in the early 90s and it was a red, 350 automatic with a black bench seat interior. A month after it was done he lost control and ran it backwards through a cinder block wall going about 40 mph. He was fine but unfortunately the car was toast!

Favorite car would be a 1987 Buick Grand National with T-Tops. Loved that car...but the payments became too expensive after the divorce. :drunk:

2004 SAAB 9-5 Arc. It was my best friend's car, he sold it to me after buying a Honda. It had blown a plug out of the head, so I installed a threaded insert and had a great car for a while. It was fast, roomy, smooth, and looked great.

Unfortunately an idiot blew a stop sign in front of me and damaged it, even after that I was able to drive it for a while. The front end was a bit dented-up, but it ran very well. Eventually it just got too rusty and I had to take it off the road, but I took a ton of parts off to keep in store for my current 9-5 (2nd pic).

SAABs are truly unparalleled, RIP to a great brand and a great car.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a few. Some of these were toys some were commuters.

Currently I own the two 2023 Ford Trucks the Tremor has a camper on it full time and the Lightning is my Daily Driver.

100% without question the Lightning is the best car I’ve ever owned. It’s a fucking rocket ship with almost 600hp and 800ftlbs of torque. It’s silent to drive is unbelievably comfortable and since I drive about 20,000 miles a year and charge at work 100% free it’s a pretty tough commuter vehicle to beat.

I’ve definitely had some smiles with other cars but I love the Lightning the most for sure.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
I'm in similar boat. I knocked the timing chain/maybe smashed a valve and unfortunately just don't have the space to have an engine sitting around.

I love that thing so it just sits in my driveway.

Well I’ll tell you. I LOVE it. I had a Tacoma for about 4 years and it had one of the first GoFastCampers on it and after that an incredible AluCab Khaya (see my avatar). But with a Tacoma being constantly worried about payload, power, gears ect…. I went ahead and ordered this truck specifically to carry the new camper we had ordered.

F350 XLT Sport Premium. 360 cameras (that work with the camper) 4.30 gears, lockers, dual battery, dual alternator, 7.3L Godzilla gas motor. 11,499 GVWR with 4214lbs of useable payload. Oh and those are 37’s it’s riding on with no lift, mods, or rubbing. It’s honestly tough to beat. Oh and it was $66,500 (with X-Plan) so about the same as a new Trailhunter. It’s a hell of an offroad truck for what in today’s dollars is a reasonable price.

Only two I've ever regretting letting go. Still kick my ass for it.

2017 Subaru WRX that I custom ordered to get the options I wanted and exclude those I didn't want. Super fun, got great fuel economy, and didn't cost a ton on insurance for it's performance level.

2019 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crewmax with TRD Off Road package. This one hurts and I'm actively trying to find something similar that I can stomach the price of. Never should have let it go.
