as much as i'd like that potential, it's just never going to happen. a disadavantage of living within the city on a smaller lot(but everything is within 15-30 minutes!). i want to gravel what i call 'no-man's land' behind my garage. it's a 6' utility easement, and the garage is another 6-12'(diagonal) off the easement-- making for a 12' opening that opens up to a 24' area at the property line. essentially an open almost-2-car garage space behind my garage that's mostly unusable. i've considered an aluminum-sided carport, but those have aesthetic/longevity issues. and then there's the shipping container route, but i also know a guy that did that and ended up on the bad side of the town inspectors for being 'technically-mobile' but not easily.. he got away with it for a while, but attention is a bad thing when it comes to city inspectors.

the second issue is that the only way back there is through my narrow driveway, and a hard kick around the garage, in a space only about 2' deeper than the 4dr long bed tacoma. with the house overhang, a full sized dump truck wouldn't be able to even get down my driveway--assuming the concrete even held. my old ranger was 2' shorter than my current 4 door long bed tacoma, and barely fit. which is also why i wanted a lawn tractor or atv for a yard-dog. so i can manipulate the trailer to the area behind the garage and still maintain the large part of my back yard for dog zoomies.

This trailer is actually my brothers, I think he bought it at Lowe’s 5-6 years ago. No brakes on this one. That console is in my ‘21 tundra, the taco is a manual:anonymous:

    Afternoon folks :hattip:

Had a hellacious storm roll through last night close to 10pm. I lost power for a total of 14 hours, so that was not fun. 8,000+ were without power in my county and around 7,000+ over the border in Maryland. Reports of 75-90mph winds here. Trees down everywhere, probably 50+ power poles, roofs ripped off, etc. My house suffered no damage, but down the road looked like a bomb went off. o_O

And with that there's always somewhere worse off.

This is a totally freak thing, but seems to be getting more common around here. Definitely going to start gathering stuff for a generator hookup.

I’m glad we’re only at 50mph, 90 would flatten us. As soon as I went to work for the utility I invested in a 13k generac. It was expensive but I know the wife and kid are all set if I’m out of town working.

A friend of mine has an apple tree, I'm probably way too late taking these cuttings but I'm gonna try anyway. Put rooting powder on 2 and stuck them straight in dirt, put the others in wet paper towels and stuck them in the fridge. I have no idea what I'm doing. 20250420_173529.jpg 20250420_173549.jpg

Lol, It's where the Ranger badge normally goes, and the hole is a factory alignment pin location. I took off all the badges when I detailed it because the factory badges are flat-black painted, and the buffer tends to cut right through that. It's also hell getting all the buffing compound dust out from behind the badge, so it's easier to just remove the badges.

That truck later got a hellcat badge over that spot.

And one of the ranger badges made its way onto the car.

I tried the Tacoma badge for a little while, but it's really too current of a nameplate. The font and completely chrome badge is off-putting. Where the black background and font of the ranger badge just somehow seems to suit the car to me.

Every time I'm at a flea market with a guy with a bin of old car badges I make a point to go through it to try to find something else, but nothing strikes me the same as that ranger badge.
