    Mine started every try today.
I cleaned, dried and dehydrated the trucks wiring harnesses and grounds. Charged up the battery, replaced the fob battery.

Edit: By dehydrated I mean, I pointed the Mr.Heater 60k btu at the skid plate.
Got the garage up to 80° for several hours. Then I left the hood open all night.

but it's only been 1 day. :fingerscrossed:

You have been known by many names in the wide open spaces of my mind…Grizzly Pat… Sir Patrick, the Surveyor of Wolves…Destroyer of Pinions, and Professor Pat the Persuader of Boulders . But far and away my favorite name for you is Scratchy Pat.

I don’t think Brian can ever take that name away from you. Scratchy Brian just doesn’t have the same ring. But, I’m worried what he did to you to make you admit to having standards in trail choice. I just hope he didn’t break you.

In the meantime, I’ve gotta come up for some legendary names for Brian…

Here’s an idea to test between brake safety interlock and neutral safety switch. Turn ignition/accessory mode on without starting engine. Attempt to shift through the gears. If it won’t let you shift out of park, maybe it’s a brake switch interlock.

If you can shift it through the gears, do you get a delay in indicating the gear it’s in? Or no gear displayed at all? Then maybe it’s more to do with the neutral switch. I’ve heard that going working the shifter back and forth a few times can help it start behaving. I think James mentioned this working for him too.

However there is another possibility…on my 18 highlander with button start, I had a no-start situation once. Turned out to be that the steering wheel had some pre-loaded pressure on the steering lock. You didn’t see a quick message on the dash to turn steering wheel did you. Sometimes they pop up and go away before you can read them.

So… Brian’s Easter Run was a fun mix. Sandy rollers. Tight and scratchy. Mud in many colors and viscosities. Beautiful gravel roads. Fun paved roads. Water falls. Historic sights

no message on the dash and no pressure on the steering with how I’ve been parked. Today was the hardest it’s been yet with the rain and dampness. I’ll have to try cycling through the gears to see if that helps. So far it seems like it’s related to the brakes in some way.

I actually put them up as the mud started flying. I tried to stayup out of the ruts but got punted into one set hard enough that I smacked the skid hard... now my exhaust is rattling again. Oh minions!

Can you park in the garage and toss in a few desiccant packets to dry it out?

Do you have your noco, or whatever you use, in the truck?
I brought my wife's DieHard battery jumper with, today. Just incase it wouldn't start.

That's probably why my truck started. As soon as I take the booster out, it'll stop starting, again. :D

Edit: With the battery unhooked, I used the airhose around any electrical. Opened the fuse box and blew that out, too.

That isn't an option for me. I may have to spray some contact cleaner in some connectors.

That isn't a bad idea to use some compressed air. I may try that after work. I want to look at the brake switch too, I think it's pretty far up under the dash but want to see if somehow it got muddy.

It rained a lot and HARD... Tacoma's are notorious for leaking, if only a little. I got water inside from the rain...

I'm not going to rule that out. It seems to me getting progressively worse in spite of the truck having time to dry out a bit.
I'm going to take a good look at the switch on the pedal assembly as well as blow out the fuse boxes and any other things I can find.

Like Rich was saying about humidity. It's 88%RH out over here.
Leaving it sit won't let it "dry".
The air around the truck needs to be dry for it to "dry out".
