"Easy" is relative definitely. I have taken on scarier things so I find it easy. I don't know how to weld yet either. But like I said, the guy who owned my truck before had already done it and he didn't weld a piece back in place. No fractures and no odd flexing so it still sits as-is.

Only Tacoma stuff but they are big into the pre-tacoma trucks and older FJs and Landcruisers.

They've been around for a long time. Kind of a throw back to a time before the internet shops (Toytec, etc.) came to dominate. For example, the last time I ordered from them (about a year ago) they were still hand writing their invoices. Sorta makes you wonder if there is anyone there that knows what a computer is.

Joe, IT'S CRAP! Your truck look horrible, and you should just part it out. Now about the wheels and tires....:D

Looks much better with some meat hanging out the sides. It will give you the added bonus of spraying MUCH more dirt up onto your truck when you are mudding. Nothing says happy like a dirty truck IMO.

 I'm on the same boat as you. Guess I will e-mail metal tech and see what they say.

...and I am almost saved up for an All Pro 3" leaf spring..

:D James!!! Always got something positive to say AHAHAHA!! Yeah I agree with the "more dirt up onto your truck" part. Oh wells!

Come on guys. I thought we were mechanically minded guys on these forums? I guess I should go back to TTORA. :D Just kidding

But seriously, watch this video. Or skip through it since its so damn long. This guy makes it look like cake. Again, ignore the welding part if you want a quick and dirty job.

EDIT: Clearly this guy is a bad ass. I know nearly no one who still welds with a stick welder.

Hell son, have them contact me! My company can deploy some ERP up in that.

x2. I saw the pics but the text wasn't matching so well.

I have one, I'm going to grab it from Dad this weekend... but I'm not going to have a free weekend until the 9th!

    keep me informed as well.

Without writing something lengthy, I can say the main skills are

    -technical writing
    -communication
    -project management
    -accounting

If you want to talk more in depth, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can help with.

this class at PCC sounds like it would go a long way to building a foundation for what I do:

I would rather use Mikes than your buddies since I know Mike and don't know your friend. Sorry :( But like Mike said..keep him(and me) posted. Are they pretty cheaP? If so, I can go buy one...

EDIT HOME F'IN DEPOT!!! They do tool rentals, no? What is that grinder call in the video? Anyone know? Sorry, I'm not a DIY guy.

    Correct.

That'd be sweet if Home Depot tool rental has one. But you can buy the one the guy is using in the video for $30 or less. It's their cheap Ryobi brand (I used to work at home depot  ) Chances are you'd pay at least $10 or $15 to rent it.

IMO Tools are NEVER a bad investment. All of my tools have paid for themselves at least twice over in saved labor expense and learning experiences.

Harbor freight also has decent throw away ones on the cheap.

MetalTech did my chop... if I had the tools I'd have done it myself and took it in to get welded but eh... Posted before but since it's relevant again...

As for the E range tires... there is another advantage over C no one mentioned. For hardcore sidewall bashing on rocks and such... you'll be better protected. However, they won't flex as much so getting the tires to grip while set low in pressure will be harder than a C range. So... it's a balance of what you need. Chances are on our newer expensive rigs you're not going to be doing some serious crawling anyway :D

SWEET!! I do want to start buying tools but I moved back in with my mom for now and there is no room in the garage for anything since most of my crap is boxed up in there. All I own is some hand tools such as sockets hehe. My dad has a little bit more stuff but no grinder :( I will check with Home Depot tomorrow since I live down the street from one..

That is very true about the tires Jake. You closed your body chop mount up I see..I don't think i'll be closing mine..

EDIT Jake how are you contacting All Pro or how were you? Seems like everytime I PM one of the members on here on TTORA they never respond back. Only response I got from them was when I bought the extended lug nut from them for my wheel spacer and I didn't even email them or anything..Sue asked me if I only needed 1 that I ordered or a full set of 24. That was about it..I PM'd Strom earlier about their 3" leaf spring because I saw he was on..still nothing.

Had one of the really small ones and burnt it up.
My uncle bought one of the larger ones. For kicks, he took it apart and fixed his DeWalt - the parts were interchangeable.
