I found the battery powered saw to be really useful. Had the sky line on a logging job knock a few trees over the road from a cliff and I was able to use it to get the road back open without waiting half an hour for a guy from the crew to walk down. Also had a few trees that blocked me in when I had a couple feet of snow.
Now, it is just getting used on small limbs (soda can size and smaller).

Speaking of saws, a friend of mine gave me this one a few months ago, since he had a stroke he couldn't crank it. Runs great, so I thought.

I took it to the woodpile Saturday and it won't rev high enough to cut. May need a simple adjustment or may be a shelf queen. We'll see.

Could be carboned up? Some of those old timers (no offense to anybody here) loved to put extra oil in the gas over what it required.

May be, I don't want to spend any money on it cause I'm cheap and have more saws than one person needs but I will tinker with it and see if I can get it to run right. First thing will be to check to see if the exhaust screen has been removed.

what that saw needs is you to send it to me... a nice loving home where it will be used & lovingly taken care of.

thats a fine saw & probably needs very little to be back in top shape. but id for sure take that off your hands & save you the head ache.

I don't think it needs a lot to get it running correctly, runs great just won't go wide open to sling chips like it should.

I put it down and got the 036, it's the same size as far as CC's go but cuts circles around it.

Yeah that saw actually compares really well with a modern 290..... (Which I use)

But the 041 should weigh less. They also make a 041 av PRO which has a little more displacement.

That o36 you got is also a fine saw!

I keep battery maintainers on most all of the stuff I have with batteries. This 140, the last time I used it about a month ago was sluggish and I had to jump it off with the battery charger.

Went to use it yesterday and nothing, the maintainer said "bad battery". I was bummed since I thought the battery wasn't that old.

When I pulled the battery I found a mouse nest with a chewed wire which made me mad. I put a brand new wiring harness on this tractor about 5-6 years ago.

Then I checked the date on the battery and realized it was a lot older than I thought :anonymous:

Manufactured January of 2017 and shipped March of 2018. Not to bad
