I don't shop at Autozone because down here they're significantly more expensive than the competition. The Walmart auto center is the cheapest by far and has a similar variety of oils and fluids at one of our supercenters. If I had to I'd just stock up on some fluids or shop towels. Something that can't be beat online due to shipping and isn't too much more expensive from competitors.

So I was eating lunch at work and suddenly my left ear popped like it does from air pressure sometimes...and was flooded with sound for a glorious 5 minutes or so before it plugged back up again lol. So I guess that's progress, gonna still keep the appointment for pretty soon here just so maybe they can fast track it along. And hopefully give me better ear cleaning tips because I'm never using those drops again (been afraid of Q-tips since my mom damaged her ear drum and hearing with one permanently as a kid).

 

How much lift are you running in the rear?

Without knowing the shock's specs, it is impossible to know if you can use them or not. I am assuming that you asked if they were a good deal or not so you could run them on your truck, right?

For whatever reason this particular tool is cheaper at Autozone than anywhere else. Otherwise I'm with you--even getting a "free" $20 of oil feels bad when that same oil would cost less than $15 elsewhere.

I'm not mad about a bucket and a gag gift, just curious if anyone else could come up with something more fun.

 

It goes like that sometimes. You've essentially got a very thick, slow-moving grease moving through your ear canal.

You're right to be suspicious of Q-tips, they can easily compact wax into the ear canal and make the blockage worse.

The drops are actually better used as preventative maintenance than as a fix to an already clogged ear canal. Throw some in 10 minutes or so before hopping in the shower, then rinse it out. Repeat once a month or so (whatever the instruction say) to keep everything moving.

 

Ah I get you. And I've definitely noticed occasionally something will be wildly cheaper there for some reason. Or they'll be the only one in town with something in stock.

 

I have OME Dakars without the add a leaf. I also have a toolbox that stays back there with supplies/tools/etc. Not terribly heavy.

The Dakars are designed for some lift right? Your just not sure how much they gave on your truck?

If those Kings are 25001-153s, and they certainly look like they could be, they are for trucks at factory height. Zero lift. They will be too short on your truck.

Look at the bottom of the details tab for the specs.

 

$100-$120 for a seal kit and shock oil. Add labor for the rebuild itself. And that is if the shafts are still in good shape and the spherical bearings are good and you're happy with the shim stacks.

 

Yes the dakars are what gives the lift, not the nitro charger shock. Ya I believe you’re right, I see the same thing on shock surplus now. Welp, thanks gentleman.

 

I was going with $300 dollar rebuild, 200 for shocks, sell for 900, profit 400

 

Or buy new ones for $1,072

They're stock-length as mentioned earlier so, waste of money
