I work in Andover right near mr @AllTacosFloat shop. I guess a car fire started on 93 and it sprewad to the narrow woods that divide the highway from my work. At home not sure what started it

I started buying from Crutchfield in the paper catalog and 1-800 number days. I always had good experiences with them, but haven't used them in a number of years as the last car I upgraded the radio on was my wife's 2007 Highlander.

I did most of my ordering myself, and only spoke to humans when I needed tech support which was really good. OTOH, it seems that everyone is upselling these days. A few months ago I brought my wife's RAV4 in to a dealer outside of Austin for the 30K oil change. They kept sending me texts for recommended additional service. $2,300 dollar worth.

She is the exact opposite of the servere service driver. 2020 RAV4 with 32,000 miles on it now. We didn't drive it to Texas, we shipped it. Long trips I drive and it's the Tacoma.

Not out of the question but those radios all seem to have the same issues after a few years, the touchscreen and the Bluetooth croak. I tried to go that route and bought several OEMs online. Got them, threw them in, and same exact issues as the original.

Toyota wants $1600 for a remanufactured one, hence why I went aftermarket.

Crutchfield has always been fantastic. Couple years ago phone service rep there helped me order a nice BOSS package (carplay and new speakers) to upgrade my son's '99 Camry. The install was super easy in that vintage of car. My daughter's 2021 needed a more complicated install to keep the steering wheel controls and backup cam. Brought it to a stereo shop in Dedham called Precision Sound that did a great upgrade for her.

I recently heard about Sucker Pond Trail outside Bennington Vermont. Is anyone familiar with this area/route? I’d like to check it out but I’m several hours away and solo. I’m curious how deep the mud is this time of year. I’d plan on going South—>North. Is this do able in a day? Can a 3rd Gen Tacoma with a 2 inch lift on 33s do this trail? Any information would help.

Anything south of lake hancock and north of the county road is closed to vehicles, used to be a really fun trail but got clamped down on a couple years ago. That being said, it is mud season and most everything is closed til June 1st as a safe bet

First of all......Do not forget the First rule of going off road........NEVER GO ALONE!!!!
Secondly, it was a Great trail, when it was open.....and if you knew how to ride it. That track that you see on OnX Off Road, was most likely the track I uploaded years ago. It sadly closed down in 2022 and is heavily policed by both the Forestry Department (who owns the land) and by the local cops. It was only wide enough in most of the trail for one vehicle to fit through resulting in 2 things, (1) once you were on the trail, there was no real effective way to turn back so you had to finish it, and (2) if there was another vehicle or group coming the other way, it was a nightmare. some of it is part of the Appalachian trail which gave the forestry department an excuse to close it to 4x4 vehicles. I did hear that motorcycles might be allowed but with the water crossings as big as they were, I would never dare try it on a bike. Unless you want to get heavily fined or possibly worst, please do not attempt. The Southern Vermont off road group used to run it all of the time and needless to say, the Forestry Department blamed them for any trash or stuff left on the trail (they were a very respectful group and mostly took more trash out of there then they brought in) and it gave them an excuse to close it to all 4x4's. I have run the trail 3 times. I wish I could go back. The "beaver damn" still haunts my dreams.

@crashngiggles Thanks I really appreciate the info. It’s too bad it was shut down. It looked like a fun trail.

I've been toying with the idea of letting the GX go.

Submitted it to the two prominent auction websites and was approved to list it on both (obviously can only do one), with reserves that I'm comfortable with. This is all because of Automotive ADHD and trying to free up some funds. Trying to decide if I should or not... and if I'll miss the GX or not.

My perspective: I would miss having an woods vehicle. So in this scenario I'd ditch the GX - cool! But then...need to find something to go into the woods with. And that's just another time sink, when (I don't but you do) I'd have 2 kids to wrestle any time to be able to do anything for vehicle mods and maintenance on a new woods truck/vehicle of some sort.

Or....Hold onto the GX and just hop in as it stands and go to do Papa Bear.

I see F all about any mods on this listing, BUT I found this for my frame of thought for costs and whatnot.

Best I can offer is sweaty cloth seats and windows down :|

Or with Matt....You might make it out without being stuck in 5 feet of mud, ain't THAT luxury?!
