    My wife is the only person who I let drive my truck. With insurance liability it’s just not worth the stress of a major accident. Also I don’t want to hear any excuses about why the motor blew up. Here ,even if someone else is driving your truck and gets into a major accident they go after the owner of the vehicle,if you don’t have enough liability insurance they start taking your assets.

    I let a good friend use a truck of mine, old F250 and got it back with a blown motor. He offered to get it repaired or even replaced. I laughed and said not to worry about it. It's a Ford and was just waiting to blow up. We still are good friends today.

    Plus in theory beater is paid for already..

    Could vary by area and how much actual damages are. Went through this recently and I'm not sure if it was driver or vehicle owner's policy that paid my wife, though it was not enough to the point of maxing out it was damn close.


    I have also said often one reason I changed my life versus my 20s is that I don't need to risk my house I have now.
