Jumping in to add another RC crawler in from the PNW.

Been in and out of RCs since the mid 80's and have owned probably 30 different rigs over that span.

Currently still have a a Traxxas Jato 3.3 and Revo 3.3 nitros, and just recently got the wife an Axial SCX lll Base Camp, and myself the Axial Capra UTB10.

Being empty nesters now, we can mod these crawlers with no guilt of spending copious amounts of money on our toys now.

I have very little knowledge on r/c. A friend of mine is 3d printing a model of my car. Are there any kits available that I could make fit into a certain sized body so I could have a tiny rc of my car? Or would the body have to be printed to fit? It's not completed yet so I have no measurements. I realize this is probably too vague and maybe a dumb question but I have to start somewhere

It's definitely possible, but it's probably harder than doing the opposite and buying an RC car to have a body custom made for it.

Even if the rig isn't done/built, providing the wheelbase length should get you spot on with what you need printed.

Got home from vacation to some new links and chassis rails. Got my Poizd T3 built up played around with it a bit today at the northwest model hobby expo on their indoor course and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Put them on my FCX24 Power Wagon which has portals but was still begging for more ground clearance (and since it has an enormous amount of body clearance it meant no trimming of the body to install them). Tires came with the dual foams and first impression is they actually work quite well. I admittedly didn't love the way they look at first but mounted and on the rig it looks absolutely hilarious and I love it. Monster/Mega Truck type vibe. Indoors it walked up and over things that were just unbelievable. Can't wait to get it outside and on the course once the rain stops.

I may have got a friend hooked on this. He ran my old FHS Power Wagon chassis all weekend while camping. He expressed interest in buying it, so I printed up an Apache cab for it.

FCX24 on the new monster tires is a hoot. Just climbs right over everything.

Also got the C2X buttoned up. New shocks, wheels, tires, and lights from RC4WD, and I slapped the wide tube rock sliders back on for a more traditional/scale look. Now just to get it on the rocks...

After running the homemade crawler last weekend, realized it might be a lineslayer if a few tweaks were done. :D
Re-printed the frame. Shortened it 10mm, 5 off each end and removed the rear tray.
Material if CF infused in Marsala and total weight of the printed parts is 9.7g.
Gave it some more shape and looks less block-like now.

Shortened the WB 13mm, 8 in front and 5 in the rear. Pulling in the front end brought it closer to the motor which helped with the balance in the front.

De-cased the RX/ESC and it fit perfect on the side of the motor, still between the rails.
Back on the 68mm tires which were originally bought for the project. Siped all the lugs on them, improvement so far, may do some trimming.

Not sure about a body. Might reprint the top tray into an actual enclosed battery holder, and incorporate some kind of "look" into it instead of a body and keep it slim. The plastic gears are still alive, but do click when bound, so best to keep it light.

Hot day today, and running the Grom non-stop got the motor pretty warm

But within minutes, that new fan really helped to cool it down

There are no decent files for flat fender jeeps, so I scratched built a shell. 5 iterations to get this. One more to go to fine tune it.

I want to raise the rear fender 2mm and lower the front fenders 2mm, and that should get the look. The fender lines should be about the same level.

I think it's done. Got the fuel tank filler, grill, folding wind shield. Might do a rollbar .

    9 slots for the flatties.

tires just barely touch at full flex, dropped it as low as possible.

    Yeah.
Love it, that was my first RC car. First one used a servo with an arm that ran across a potentiometer thingy as the speed controller. Getting an ESC was a game changer. I think Novak and Tekin were the 2 popular ones. Pushed packs with matched cells, 3-minute races. Trying different motors with different winds in the modified class. Running into the barrier when some jackass turns on his radio on your frequency. Good times.

I have more than a half dozen RC10's both vintage and newer releases. Several tubs of new spare parts too. Definitely one of my favorite platforms and it still holds its own racing against some of the newer kits today. I used to buy every limited re-release, but stopped when AE started milking it and dropping new kits every other month.

I think they should have just re-released the rc10 full time.
