I loved Nicaragua the two times I went. Lodging for a week plus breakfast was like $80 hardest part about it was not being able to bring home the street dogs

So it turns out Patrick meant to send me different bumpstops in the mail a few days back whenever that was. Just got another package in the mail and this new disgn is looking top notch.
    IMG_20250422_141347.jpg
They got it right with the chambered angle almost matching exactly to the same angle his OG bumpstops reshaped themselves over about a year and a half of abuse. Super stoked to see how these compare. I'll put the new design up front and the other new set with the original shape on the back to see how the new rubber compound compares to the OG set

I went in 2015 with my ex, we spent 2 weeks there bouncing all around the west coast of the country mostly. Stayed in hostels, most of which were actually pretty nice except for a couple. The one on the island of Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua was like a hippy resort

I remember thinking I could retire there with the modest savings I had in my bank account at the time with the exchange rate

And yeah there were sooooo many street dogs (and cats). Constantly begging for food, was sad

its so cool and fun the amount of paperwork you have to do to get insurance to pay for treatment that policy technically covers but dont have in network providers for

even better when they only allow you to submit it by fax! and you have to do it every 6 months to receive continued treatment

I've been following Patrick Perry for a couple of years. He rigorously tests his bump stops using state of the art machines and measurement techniques. I'm a big believer in running extended bump stops on 100 series. We use 4 bumps on the front. Running trucks at near GVWR makes extended bumps an important suspension addition. I really want to get a set of Perry bumpstops. The extended ones that I'm running are ok. However those are for a Tacoma. I really need to up the game.

I seriously considering buying a private island in the middle of lake Nicaragua and opening a puppy rescue. The island I was considering was only $80k and that included a half decent little house.

FWIW my experience with Hawaii has been eh. On Oahu anyway. Friends won't shut up about Kauai though so maybe that's worth a go...

I've only been once, when I was 18 with my family; 3 hormonal moody teenagers and their parents who were about a year or so away from their 20+ year marriage falling apart in traumatic fashion...probably wasn't the best Hawaiian experience lol. I'm not so eager to go back though just because of how crazy expensive a trip like that is, so many other tropical-like destinations for far less money and less crowded with tourists.

Damn well yeah I definitely see it now

I had thought 6P4 was Star Wars related, like in some way related to C-3P0 or something

That kinda blew my mind I'm not gonna lie

    But....rainbows every day! Haha
Yeah I was young as well, but not with that added baggage lol, though still not my number one choice to return to. Easier to go to the Keys or Virgin Islands if I want island vibes, which it turns out, I am not a fan of anyway haha.
