I'v learned quickly to despise pavers. All the grass that grows up between them. I need to get a weed eater to keep the grass in check this summer. Next year concrete is getting poured.
1st cut of the summer done.

    Fuckin preach.
My dentist is now no longer in network but it's the one office I've found in years that I like, so now I have to switch insurance just to keep seeing them and I haven't even been able to get a rep on the phone while on the hold line.
Been paying out of pocket last few visits.

Exactly why I only go the pour route.

I need to call my guy soon, same one that did our driveway.

Opinions on Hyundai? We are looking at 3 row SUVs with hybrid option and the Palisade came up (2026 model year, previous ones no hybrid).

I know they have the famous 100k mile warranty and all but that's about all I know about them.

Only real option for a roomy 3 row I see with Toyota is the Grand Highlander which is also a consideration.

Need the trunk space for when we take Dex with us on trips and still need room for cargo, a lot of '3rd row' SUVs sacrifice cargo space for the 3rd row.

I'm replacing the pavers that are there with stamped concrete. A 16x40 patio and still have 20x55 aria of grass.

It's a lot less maintenance for sure.

gotcha, I was a little worried for a sec... we have an all concrete backyard thanks to some bonehead idea the previous owners had and it's awful for little kids, not to mention dogs.

Yeah I definitely still want grass. Whoever did the pavers did them all funky and I want to square it up.
This is my plan next summer.

I used paver base panels on top of the fabric for the last ones I did and, knock on wood, nothing has grown through for the first time going that route. We shall see.

My sisters got a Tucson. Would not recommend. Those GDI engines are famous for gumming up with carbon which means it can be stubborn to accelerate at times. Also it just feels cheap on the inside, like they tried to do luxury stuff but went about it as cheaply as possible.

I'd look into the Highlander or the Pilot. My buddy had the latter until the 3rd kid came along, that Pilot was nice. Or just bite the bullet and go Sienna. Everybody that gets one ends up loving it, despite the initial aversion to minivans.

To add to what Danny said, I read some bad things about their engines.

The Telluride/Palisade were both on our list if we went 3rd row and even checked them out. Reading more into QC issues told us NOPE.

I stand behind Honda 100% for dailys. We have a new CRV and I don’t have a single complaint. Put 150k miles in a civic before that and the only repair I had to do outside of standard maintenance was replace the alternator. If we needed a 3rd row, it for sure would be a pilot.

Also the new Hyundai's are just plain ugly. Someone is trying way to hard to make them look cool.

Saw that exact one (color) on the road the other day.

Think Stephanie said something along those lines before I said that's just fucking ugly :puke:

I had an Acura TSX for a year and loved it. Wish I coulda kept it, but had more important financial priorities at the time.

The rear end looks like they left the bumper off a dustbuster van.

Friend of mine has an older Veloster and it’s virtually uninsurable and unsellable thanks to high theft rate and a manufacturing defect that could cause it to burst into flames while parked (due to brake fluid leaking on to the abs electronics and causing a short I think). Dunno how current quality compares but it’s not a good look compared to Honda or Toyota.

Boss’s wife has a new Highlander. I guess they’re pretty quick with the modern v6/turbo/hybrid/whatever (I forget) engine.
