Was it pretty straight forward?

 

Yep, it's a vehicle safety. With a bit more in-depth inspection.

Brakes and suspension are fully looked at and images taken of every answer.

He made a mistake and did just a regular safety, then I was about to leave and asked if I have to wait for the yellow sticker. He had to start all over cuz he did the wrong one on the tablet, and there is no just converting it to the other.

Helped him find some shortcuts

He found that all the images for the brakes and tires are all shared so he got to skip redoing about an hour worth.

 

Do you have to pull into weigh stations?

 

No, I am under any weight requirements for being checked at weight stations.

It is only the modified bed that is forcing the yellow sticker.

 

Spent some time this evening correcting my backup cam view.

Got it exactly where I want it.

Used some wiring harness bracket we took off the truck somewhere, and modified it for my needs. I used this bracket because it's incredibly stiff, I can't bend it with my hands, requires tools. Will hold the shape and location with no worries.

 

Last piece of the puzzle put in place today.


I had moved the trailer plug within weeks of owning the truck, to up inside the frame ziptied. There it lived for almost 8 years.

Back in action!

Practiced backing up and hooking up to the trailer for a few hours today.

Not rushing into anything, I want to feel comfortable with each step before I move on.

Felt like I got the hang of hooking up today.

 

1st load of blasting media, #40 blasting sand.

1500lbs, truck working like a pro.

30 x 50lbs bags.

Working on getting a tractor for buying in bulk and moving large 1 tote pallets.

 

You'll be carrying all that and pulling a trailer too. That is a work truck.

 

Not sure it can do 1500 lbs and tow

I think it can tow the trailer (800lbs hitch weight wet) and 15 bags.


1/2 that load.

 

I still have an overload spring on order for the Ol'man emus, should help a bit.

Then my 3rd stage bump stop hack, might work a bit more. Get it closer to flat.

 

Working with the blaster today, wanted to try something harder since it's my 2nd day using it



Wanted to see the result of not take my slider off and hitting it with the wet blasting.

Hit the pinch weld 4 imes I think, and couldn't get the very back line. It was fun to try, but I'll remove them both next week and do them right.






Learned a ton doing this, so it was well worth the 1 hour of prep, and 20 mins of blasting.

 

Everything sandblasting has been going well, used the rig to get more media with a U-Haul.


Now I need to get a 3rd shipping container, and convert it into a blasting booth. In order to get this accomplished I need to put a proper 2nd driveway in that right now is just grass.


One stump in the way as well, started with the stump today. It has pissed me off many times, it will feel great to remove this thing.

Got to work this afternoon finishing the stump removal.

The new DeWalt pressure washer did amazing, dug a hole directly under it. Allowed me to run the cable all the way under.

Tractor may have pulled some wheelies getting this done

 

Installed Road Active suspension assist today.




Raised the back end from 38" to 40.5" at the bed.

It is very configurable, depending on what load you want to support.

I went with the 3rd bolt hole and the big 50% spacer for the spring tension. I can always adjust for less if needed.

Not bad 2.5" inch lift in the back end, and much needed suspension for the trailer.

This should prevent me from sitting on the bump stops when having the trailer attached.

 

Truck putting in work again today.

Neighbor wanted to me to drop a few maple trees on his property.

Love free hardwood.

 

Got the workshop moved over to the neighbours.



Now my shipping containers can be moved around and a roof built over them.
