I did a good bit of noxious weeds research to keep my fields clean since my neighbors also don't maintain their properties very well. Someone had argued that weeds are good for bees or whatever and upset the county cleared a certain type of thistle from a hiking trail. But didn't understand there is a literal Noxious Weeds Act by the state to remove or manage noxious weeds.

This doc was pretty helpful with identifying and control methods. I had this stupid stuff call Kochia that your typical weed killer with 2, 4-D wouldn't kill. I found Dicamba seems to be the go to for control methods over 2, 4-D. I buy the stuff that has both in it, add some soap. Or to kill yucca, add diesel
    https://sam.extension.colostate.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/04/weed-statewide.pdf

I don't have any myrtle spurge but looks like 2, 4-D works. I stay away from Round up or other large multi killer agents and get the ag stuff from Big R, Murdochs, Tractor Supply etc.

And if you can't tell already, I hate weeds hahaha

Have you found a better way to manage bindweed and creeping bellflower than just digging them up?

Digging up bellflower is fun for a minute but I've had my fun and there's still a ton left in/around my flower beds after some years of neglect.

This is what I get from Murdochs. Little pricy but I haven't seen any of the flower/vine type weeds come back

Is Nufarm special? No Murdoch's in COS, Tractor Supply is a bit more accessible for me and they sell Gordon's Amine 400 or LV 400 2,4-D products.

The Gordon's stuff also comes in smaller quantities, probably more appropriate for my needs.

Well I guess its also called Donkeys Tail. Ive never had any skin problems when I've pull them but I did read they can be irritable for some. I plan to pull them this afternoon. They've never spread to my backyard but I did get my flax seeds in the mail yesterday, so I plan to plant those in place of the myrtle spurge. I've had good luck cutting them then pulling them. I used to be a tomato farmer but all we grew was tomatoes, yellow squash and cucumbers. Hopefully get some big tomatoes this year

From what I gather, Nufarm is the chemical company and Weedmaster is the company that sells/mixes it here.
The ones you linked are more of 2, 4-D and likely only have a tiny bit of Dicamba. I can't confirm nor deny 2, 4-D is what kills bindweed since what I use is 12% Dicamba where as the 2, 4-D specific mixes are only like 0.3% or something tiny

FWIW, the Kochia stuff I have to kill does not die with the mixes that are mainly 2, 4-D and only the heavier Dicamba kill it

If you have a field of bindweed you can get bindweed mites from the CSU Extension. People are trying it in residential settings but it's not as "easy."

Me... I've been pulling bindweed for 20+ years. I hate it and have choice words for the devil's pubes as I'm battling it.

I have some scattered plants in my yard, far from a whole field. I'm getting a better handle on what the various plants are and more importantly, what their root systems are like. Both bindweed and creeping bellflower (and dandelion, to a less infuriating extent) have deep, sturdy roots.

I've read that bindweed roots can be two feet deep, and I've found plants in my own garden that are easily a foot or more.

Pulling the tops of the plants like that is a losing battle. I've taken to using a trenching shovel to semi-surgically remove them, but I have some wood chipped areas that a topical solution would be much more convenient.

Bindweed is literally the f'n worst. Their root system can be 20' deep and 30-40' laterally. It doesn't matter what you do. Pull, cut, piss on... it'll always comeback.

15 years ago I build a shed in the back yard in November. Come spring time there was bindweed growing inside the shed attached to a 2x4. No soil, no water, no sunlight... and it's f'n root was clinging to a shitty 2x4 about 2 feet off the floor. It was at that moment I knew, I'd never win.

Fortunately I do not have creeping bellflower but I also hear that's nightmarish also.

I sprayed some brake cleaner on some this morning, just for fun. Barely phased it.

Kochia is my enemy.. starts off as this tiny little fuzzy leaf thing then all of a sudden it's 6" tall a couple days later and looks totally different. Let them grow and they'll get 5 feet tall and the stem is about an inch thick. And when they die, guess those evil things turn into... tumbleweeds! And when they tumble the drop their seeds all over. Stuff will take over in a heartbeat. When the 1st kiddo was born which was early summer I didn't have as much outdoor maintenance time and remember seeing them start to sprout up. Next thing you know I had a forest. I pulled about 100 pounds of if late summer/early fall and ones I didn't get turned into tumbleweeds. I wanted to just burn it all

In other news... Avs looked awful. Dallas definitely wants it more

I've got some kochia as well. Mine mostly grows over dirt in a small area and it seems to be effective to just knock it down with a garden hoe while it's still small. After a few seasons I still have some, but a lot less.
