    Thanks, Chuck. After the experiences of the last 18 months, I'll be thrilled to just get passed the HR interview and get to the actual hiring manager. I haven't even gotten that far in several months.

    You make friends where you find them.

    The best friends I've ever had are people that I worked and served with over the years. I didn't go to work to find them, but that's where they were when I met them.

    Yeah, the whole perspective today is vastly different than 30+ years ago. Back then, companies generally understood if they get a top performing employe, it was in their own best interests to keep said employee for as long as possible, to keep their productivity / quality of produced "thing" as high as possible. But somewhere in the early 2000's, that changed dramatically. Suddenly, the focus went from "hey, let's be the best at whatever it is we do / produce, and reward those employees who make that possible for us, our brand and reputation is our foremost goal, and good employees are why we are where we are", to "quality products? market reputation?? WGAF?? All we care about is what the idiots on Wall Street think and whatever they want. All that matters is the bottom line, not quality, so get rid of those senior, top performing employees that are costing us $$$$$, replace them with entry level nobody's that will just churn out crap by the train load, and we'll make our $$$ on volume, and the money we save on higher end employees will make the Wall Street clowns happy". Everytime I look at web sites for jobs, and I see something about how "we are a family, our employees are our most valuable assets", I wanna f'ing puke. I'd love to ask the CEO or board of directors one question: If times were really tight for the company, which option would you choose - to get rid of employees, or to cut expenses in some other way, like maybe everyone takes a small pay cut for a year or so, until things improve. The *only* circumstance where any company should be getting rid of employees - other than for stealing/embezzlement/fighting/significant performance reasons, is if the company is literally going out of business and shutting the doors and everyone is getting laid off. If the company leadership team can't find some other way to save money, than by laying off people, your leadership is utter shit, and you don't deserve to be in business.

    Sorry to rant, but this is my 4th bout of unemployment since 2010, 2nd bankruptcy, and 2nd home foreclosure because of this shit. And I do not take the easy way out and just file bankruptcy as soon as I lose a job. The first time, I had been out of work for 16 months, and had exhausted my entire 401(k) before I filed. This time it has been 18 months, and also exhausted what little 401(k) I had from my last two employers before we filed last month. Enough of this crap!

    Now I need a Guinness. :rofl::cheers:

    Back from Costco. Some of the things I picked up are multiple boxes of two pack mega size Frosted Flakes. A giant pack of Kirkland TP. A box of 12 sleeves of Oreos. A multi pound pack of strawberries that’ll go bad before we eat them all. Knob creek bourbon. Now if they only carried ammo that would round out a perfect shopping experience.

    Thank god for Costco TP
    I had just bought a pack prior to the great TP hoarding panic of 2020… that lasted me over 6 months!
