The closest place around Austin that i know of is Hidden falls. I know of a few small backroad places, but thats about it.

Thats what i heard and i noticed TO is more offroad focused, i actually saw silverback at discount tire a few months ago and talked to him.

What else is there to do to my truck :notsure: I actually think im gonna call it quits with this truck and start looking for a rock buggy. Ive done almost everything i can think of without dropping tons of dough. only thing i would do now is ARB lockers and gears.

Meaning you have sliders and what not waiting to be installed. But yeah a rock buggy would be pretty bad ass. Need some serious cash though

Thanks man. Only thing I wish were different is that they had an aggressive side wall design like my duratracs. Other than that I love em

Yea true, i need to get the sliders and skids put on soon.

My dad and I have been talking about getting a buggy together, i can alot of the work myself. So that will knock alot of the price off. I want an old CJ7 or a SAS'd toyota pickup.... but he is pretty stuck on an old blazer

I was dead set on duratracs until I saw your experience with tread life... I've been at a loss since.

I would like to find something soon because I really don't want to plasti-dip my wheels until I know the tire will be on for a while.

Then again, I might just live with the rugged fails.

Ive heard good things about the KM2's, mine look brand new still. My stock tires only lasted like 4000 miles

People rave about these stupid duratracs but I think I'm an odd ball. Some people have 20k on them and they look fine. But I dunno. From my research this is what I would get:
    Bfg km2
    Cooper stt
    Dick cepek fcll
    Procomp extreme a/t
    Toto m/t
    Nitto trail grappler

They do look mean, but a little pricey for me.

My other killer is I spend to much time on the highway, and fuel mileage is important also.

My job is driving across the country, then hopping on trails to get to the sites. Usually no more than 2 miles off road, but that 2 miles can be equivalent to a off road park trail.

Yea i can understand that. I have a set of pathfinder at's that i put on for highway use, they have lasted 40k and still look new  The truck looks funny with them on though haha.

I'm half tempted to just go with another set of Hankooks... But I don't want "P" tires, I want "LT" to help with sidewall flex in cross wind. But damn, the LT's are just as expensive as the duratracs!

How about just some good ol bfg a/t ko?

Another decent a/t I saw...havnt read any reviews..but the Cooper ST Maxx looks semi aggressive so it can do well offroad but not enough to hurt gas or tread life
