@Kwikvette Final update.
- Package was mislabeled by the APO, but they can't do anything about it.
- The DoD/Air Force has no idea how this happened and has no systems in place to assist.
- USPS sees nothing wrong with this outcome, APO shouldn't have put the wrong label on it.
- USPS won't answer if my name was on the incorrect label, they also won't tell me what house in CA it went to obviously.
- USPS does not investigate package theft if it was labeled to go to that address, even if the individual named on the package doesn't live at that address.
- Myself or the sender will receive no insurance money, the package arrived at it's labeled address after all.

I appreciate the airmen and postal workers that assisted me, it wasn't their fault of course.

That makes sense why USPS is trying to wash their hands in the whole thing (it's like an insurance company, deny all responsibility).

So some idiot at APO fucked up and you guys are out a console and/or insurance check.

 

I know people who have 3rd gen Tacomas with the transmission hunting issue that was cured by an OTT Tune.

 

@04Pre_Runner Can you not file a claim through MPSA though since it's out of USPS jurisdiction?

 

It got shot down at the PACAF Air Postal Squadron. Saying they have no claims system and they resolve these issues at the USPS level. Could I contact MPSA? Not sure, their mission statement and functions on their agency page seem to indicate they might.

I was searching around inside the zip code that it was delivered and found a restaurant named after my exact street name. I'm starting to sound like the aliens history channel guy but I gave them a call asking if they'd received some random package in the last month or two. Doubt I'll hear back but I could totally see a package with the wrong zip code, my name, and street getting delivered there by a rushed postal worker.

 

If you care to share, what’s the backstory here. Was something actually shipped from a base, or did this just go sideways?

A couple of years ago I had a shipment seized by the military. USPS was never able to provide and explanation how or why…

 

It all began with several of us sharing our discontent with USPS in general.

I had tons of delays all of a sudden between the months of Dec through March (like HUGE delays, stuff being sent to the East Coast that originated in CA to be mailed to CA) and more.

Top off with the package I sent you that got "lost" which by the way, I had put in like 3-4 bottle openers so it sucked losing those.

 

Damn! I love opening bottles!!

 

I'll be cutting more once the new table arrives

Had sent like 2 or 3 F Bombs and 1 Stiff one

 

If i can find flavor it can be like 12$ a can

It came from Yokota Air Base, Japan and was shipped to me in Texas by a friend. He had a customs form as documentation and confirmed my address on the stylus/payment module multiple times. He didn't think to get more proof like snapping a photo of the box or anything. Then it all went sideways when it got delivered to a porch/front door in California. And like @Kwikvette is saying I've had absolutely awful service with the USPS since December.

That's actually insane that it was shipped to a base and you never got any answers. If we received a random package we'd drive it over to the base post office immediately and ask for them to route it properly.

For mine I suspect someone miscoded it, but who knows… All I got from USPS was that they considered the delivery complete, despite it being addressed to me in Arizona! It was a pretty cheap item and the vendor just decided so send out a new one instead of fighting it.
