So hopefully someone in here has a 3rd gen, stock bed weight, and installed the Deaver expedition Stage 1 leafs and can either confirm or deny what Deaver said.

I have Deaver Expedition series Stage 1 U402's and they squeak like hell. So annoying.

Well, that’s interesting…heard that about others, but not these. Definitely have to do some research on that. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, did a little research…there are quite a few complaining about the same issue. I have stock, they don’t squeak, maybe an AAL is in order. I really want to just replace the springs to get rid of my 2” block. Back to the drawing table…

    :annoyed:

Thanks. Actually leaning away from Deaver now. Apparently there are squeaking issues.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
Did they squeak from the get go?

I installed some a few months ago and slathered the bushings to hell. No squeak on the daily, until I finally trailered a load and had a tiny squeak lol. Hoping it doesn't get worse any time soon.

You can see post #95 for my results...over 2" with 300#s of additional weight.
No squeaking issues while driving, and I've done nothing to them.
In all fairness I'm not in a high debris environment. If you are going to be in a lot of dust, sand, or mud that could definitely add to the squeaking.
Deaver has a number of other options as well.
I have been really happy with my setup.
    Whatever you choose, good luck!

Mine don’t squeak at all. I’ve had them about 2 years.

Do you have the Expedition Stage 1? Do you off-road? If so, are the conditions dusty?
Still trying to figure things out why some people’s squeak and others don’t. Thanks.

Stage 1…offroad for hunting and fishing access mostly. Sometimes dusty. Sometimes muddy.

So the only Stage 1 I have found are for a Tundra. Only the Expedition series seems to be for the Tacoma. At least according to the websites I looked at, including Deaver. So… you have the ones that are listed for the Tundra?

So now the question remains, why yours don’t squeak and others do. A lot of people suggest greasing between the leafs Helps. But if I’m gonna drop a grand on new leaf springs, I sure in the hell do not want to deal with anything other than pure enjoyment!

All aftermarket leaf packs squeak and the ones that get a reputation that don't - Eh.. They will eventually.

Depends on a bunch of reasons why. location, climate, how much you off road etc... How often you check the torque on the bolts... How often you pressure wash them.. How often you spray them with (PB Blaster silicone, Fluid Film products)

OK then. If this is the case, then why don’t stock leaf spring squeak? or do they?

My Tundra and F150 both squeaked with stock springs, after several years. I think it happens to all of them eventually. I do not believe that Deaver is any better or worse in this regard.
