Why buttons and knobs on the center console like a car?

Discussion in '4th Gen. Tacomas (2024+)' started by yotadust, Apr 24, 2025.

?

3rd Gen vs 4th Gen front cabin (not considering the 4th gen's seat height and head room fixes)

  1. 3rd gen is more tougher

  2. 4th gen is more tougher

I agree, the handbrake is the best attribute of the 3rd gen Tacoma, because so much else on the 3rd gen sucks when compared to the 4th gen Tacoma.

im just glad I bought my new 3rd gen SR before they started detuning the affordable SR trim in the 4th gen. Guess I'll have to wait 5 or 6 years before they offer the 4th gen in a non detuned SR. Or maybe they wont be doing that anymore since they are detuning with computer code and not engine sizes anymore in the trucks

because the cab is squashed like a pancake in the 3 gen so they could get higher roll over ratings. I feel like I'm driving a go kart and it is hell on my lower back because of injuries from the military

    Huh?

These are compact pickups, they've always been small. Your avatar says make toyota great again but those old cabs from the 80s were tiny af

If you need more room go buy a
F-150. Or be a real man and quit whining about your back. Everyone's back hurts, what else is new?

You do know the base 3rd gen sr came with an anemic (but bulletproof) 4 cylinder.

yes sir. then they dropped the 4 bang and left the SR V6, so hopefully they do something similar with the 4th gen so i can get an affordable SR 4x4 non detuned 4th gen with the corrected cabin geometry.

Y'all haven't seen pancake cabin until you've had to put your ass in a car seat that's lower than what you do on the squat rack. Talk to me when you've put kneecaps to nipples when getting in or out of the vehicle.

I'm bigger than you are by I don't want to say how much. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

Stock, it's drivable but my head rubbed the headliner while my knees touched the dash. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it made me nervous knowing that there was no place for body parts to go in even a minor crunch. With a seat lowering mod, it's easily the most comfortable driving position I've ever experienced, and there's room to spare.

    RL,

You are still by far the most entertaining replier on TW!

I've driven a 2024 Tacoma Limited and put 100 miles on it. (While my DCSB/AT/Sporty Spice was getting TRD Lift, minus the vintage grill)

I've got no complaints/wouldn't change a thing...at least, none that bring as much attention as the center console. lol

Unlike you friggin' giant trees, I'm 5'7" and 196lbs of Pug Life! lol

Well, I would say FU. If you don’t like the truck, leave it to the rest of us men to drive them around. You’re insulting me and the rest of the group.

Maybe you can find an earlier generation 2 or 3 with an E brake.
I don’t see too many women driving Tacoma’s around. It must be your perception or weakness in your knees.
