Caught up and passed me real quick haha. But my first time with the kit. I cut way more sheet metal than he did as well trying to tuck it as high as possible because I need to make the roof from scratch for the sunroof. Waiting for my buddy to come up in two weeks to discuss some details of what he wants and then I’ll drop it to 360 weld and move to the engine cage and rest of the project.

Yeah he’s choochin right along. I think he’s out of town until this weekend, so progress is on pause but I imagine it’ll be done next week once I get the roof panel kit from TE. Still waiting on that.

That interior cage is impressive but I can’t figure how any of the interior is going back in. I guess you’re custom hacking the dash and center floor console around tubes? Do the rear seats go back in? New aftermarket front seats?

I already have aftermarket front seats. And yep, just got cut some holes in the dash and console to let the tubes pass thru.

Your fabricator could stop that crack and tack that back quickly. He's already there.

Stock back seat. There should be pictures in my build thread summer of 2019 time frame. My cage is nothing like the te cage. Much more minimalist

Alright this thing is super cool.

    buttttttttttt

the things no one mentioned with putting a cage in this truck is how difficult it is to make it feel like a truck again on the inside. There isn’t a snowballs chance in hell that the dash, backseats, carpet, seatbelts, rear view mirror, radio, gauge cluster are going to fit in the truck.

I found these trick rear view mirror spacers, so that’ll fix that problem. I got my center console back in, no mods required. Backseats aren’t even close to fitting, so I’m gonna buy a corbeau bench or something and have the same guy throw it in, at the same time I’m gonna have him make me a simple dash. Holley screen, air registers, switch pros, double din radio, and a mount for the ecu behind it. Glovebox for extra points.

scrapped the stock 3 point belts, gonna be a harnesses only truck.

@snowsk8air2 what harnesses are you running?

And since I can run carpets, I need ideas. I’m looking for a bed liner esque coating or something that can go down on top of my dynamat. I tried raptor liner, and that shit didn’t even come close to sticking. Not gonna lie, the floor of my truck is clapped tf out. There’s some bare sections, some cracking OEM sound deadening, some peeling dynamat. I want to just spray some thick shit down and forget about it honestly.

I’ve given up on having a “luxury” interior, but I just want it to be simple, enjoyable truck where my wife can get in and not feel like she’s in a shitbox.

You can 100% fit the dash, gauges and radio back in. Many many people have done it including @Airdog with the same cage

You’ll have to notch the dash to get it back in but it should go back in. Same with the carpet I would think. I’m planning to get the carpet back in on the truck I’m doing.

Harness I’m running the prp 5.3’s. Some people like the 3”, others prefer 2”.

Thanks! and definitely some cutting required.

So the issue is, that im seeing, including pictures from TE's website, the dash needs to go in and be installed before the door bars are burned in, and my door bars are already burned in. the dash is about 4" too wide on either side of those door bars to fit back in.
