I hear hydrogen peroxide works well for the sun faded plastics. I remember watching a video where I guy made an old Nintendo look almost brand new a while back

I think I read that too a few months ago. My NES is a bit faded, but man this Playstation is way worse.

I bought an original GC Loader a few days ago on Ebay the moment my brother told me he's letting me have his Gamecube some days ago.

I'm going to load it up completely will every ROM I can find.

But he said he's not sure if it works so I'll mess with it tomorrow or Monday.

    Oooh yeah

Cleaned it up well with dish soap as it was more dirty than yellow really

    20250427_085856.jpg

@unstpible they sell this stuff called Retrobrite, and while many use that cream hydrogen peroxide mix (for salons) that you mentioned, I may still buy Retrobrite as it's only a few bucks more

Figured it'd be convenient to have and use it on other consoles

    20250427_090251.jpg

Fortunately the Dreamcast is really clean

That's probably the most commonly skipped item among all owners, paired with running the stock broken carrier bearing

Doesn’t anyone know of this in an R150 from a Tacoma? In the ad he says he doesn’t know which year or model it’s from.

I see a passenger-side front drive shaft exit from the transfer case. Tacoma would be driver-side.

Excuse the mess, but hell yeah the Gamecube does indeed work

    20250427_110734.jpg

The only tv with composite input was the garage tv so I had to bring it in to try

Brother had told me it might not work, he wasn't sure

I also found this, no idea if it’d fit a Tacoma though

    Dusted everything off

Just need to dig out my SNES, get my Xbox from my cousin, and I'll have most my old consoles

    20250427_120008.jpg

I'm not even gonna consider anything after Xbox. I gave away my PS3 and Xbox One, and sold my PS4 way back

I don't even know what happened to my Wii

(To be fair, the Saturn I got from a garage sale, never owned one new)

We’ve still got our Atari, NES, SNES, N64, probably about 100 games, bunch of accessories like power pad, guns, game genie, etc :D

Every once in a while we get a wild hair and bust something out but they live in the garage for the most part. We keep on talking about setting it all up in the guest room but there are too many projects in line ahead of it.

Reminds me, my brother said he has my N64 too (thinks he does, almost not sure)

I forgot my friend gave it to me before he moved when we were all young

I never owned an Atari though, wasn't old enough for one of those

You know Atari was bought multiple times and the latest owner has actually brought the console back to life

They still sell games for it, and their current console accepts old games and vice versa

    Just don't have Playstation cords

If I don't pick some up off FB marketplace, I'll just order some from Ebay

Apparently modding an original Playstation is costly and a lot of labor so I'll forego modding it and just play original discs on it

Super stoked to still have Xenogears and my FF games; those are hard to find and expensive

I had no idea Atari is back, that’s cool! That’s the one we have the fewest games for so would be awesome to add some.

Think our generation just created this huge demand as many of us had these consoles growing up only to get sold off, traded, discarded, etc

I got rid of stuff during my moving from the military which sucked, but I'm glad most my stuff went to family so I can get it back again

(Just looked up Xenogears, $250+ for CIB with both discs in mint condition) :anonymous:

And despite owning an Atari and being able to throw out my back with an angle grinder, my age still starts with a 3! For a couple more months anyways…
