some just water, others with some pickling spices and salt yes.. about 13-15 minutes in the boil, then dunked in ice bath..

but again I can’t eat it myself, so to be honest at this point I’m usually like scrubbing the boat and putting away gear or something.

I appreciate you sharing that though I’m definitely going to bring up that technique to my dad and brother in case they want to try!

I did well yesterday. 20 fish day!!

Not bad for a January for me.

 

Although it is pretty popular and I have some seemingly good places near by I’ve never really Kokanee fished til today.. found a couple plus a rainbow, more technique to learn but beautiful day!

Thought I foul hooked a catfish at first. This was my 5th cast on a hot, hot day..

 

Years ago when I was visiting family in Florida I went fishing and caught several of these beauties. I didn't have a camera with me, so this will have to do. I had no idea what kind of fish it was so I asked my buddy. He said it was a mother-in-law fish. lol.
