AWE Exhaust, KARTBOY exhaust hangers, custom 1/0 exhaust grounding, lots of Titanium hardware from my old builds, silly JDM bits from my old Subaru builds, Uniden Bearcat Off Road CB, Firestik 2 w/custom CF mount, custom KARTBOY plate frame with Rigid Ind Spot on ball head mount, Yakima Mega Warrior w/custom CF cross brace. ARP extended studs (not installed yet), Optima Red Top, Siless Insulation in cab. Diode Dynamics LEDs throughout... More titanium fasteners. K&N intake snorkus delete. Greddy hose clamps throughout. DBA 4000XS Brake Rotors. TRD PRO fogs. Dakine Tail Gate Pad. More to come of course.
Sounds like a Friday night, for my little brother and I, at RC City in Milpitas, Ca. Yeah, Novak speed controllers, Trinity Monster HP, Losi, Schumacher...the golden years for sure.

I did notice they drop a new variant every couple months. The clear edition. That green tub. I'll stick with hoarding vintage Tamiya and a few select cars like the RC10, Optima Gold, and Dog Fighter...

Though, I did score two vintage NIB Le Mans motors so I will need chassis to go with them. "need"...lol

This is the latest incarnation! I still have some links coming to shorten the front 2mm and extend the rear by 8mm for just shy of 13 inches of wheelbase. I also trimmed 4mm off the body.

Does anyone know of any good 1/18 lexan bodies? I want something a little more scale looking than the stock Ascent 18 body. I'm looking at the Injora FJ body but I'm not sure if I want to add any weight up high.

I had one of those back in the day. I remember swapping the AWD chain drive out for much quieter belt drive.

The Trinity Triad 9 turn was the sweet ticket motor back then. Fast!

I'm thinking silver rather than the black?

I think the mismatch looks really cool with the half body, maybe black on the rear silver up front?

Looks good the way it is, I like the splash of red here and there as well. I think you're bored and looking for mods to do, which is what we all do....

    I'm bored too.
Printed a set of sliders, embedded the magnets to hide them better.

The only place it catches is the ball links on the skid, they hang down just enough. Might redesign the frame with a 5 degree tilt, and see if it helps. Lots of effort going into a kit that has been discontinued. Maybe a simple skid over the links would be easier.

Redid the frame to get better breakover angles and moved the rear top links up 2.5mm.

and made a riser for the rear to compensate for it.

Added 10g of lead to each wheel, that made the biggest improvement as the whole car now weighs in at 416g, lightest of the fleet.

I picked up 2 bodies at an RC swap meet for $2 each. I'm having a blast!

My OG TLT based crawler rocked a random rustler body for a long time, cut on some body lines and it looked good! I like it!

Too beautiful of a day to work after a gloomy rainy weekend. Played hooky today and went crawling among other things.

    Full story - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/motorcycles-bs-thread-2-0.420753/page-3111#post-30593239

I kinda wanna make a roll bar / tube cage on the back half to go from the top of the body down to the back of the bed to tie things in (I ditched the wing after bending dafuq outta post mounts and the wing itself). I need to dial in the front suspension so it doesn't unload on the climbs as much, debating on a center limit strap to reduce straight droop (but not articulation) or put some internal springs in the shocks to hold things down.

I still need to trim just a bit. I can't stand the sound of any rubbing, and if you try really hard, it'll rub.

20250429_131745.jpg That's a pre-painted Redcat Volcano EPX Pro. I either removed or covered al the OEM decals, and took a dremel to the Redcat logo on the tailgate spoiler.

Procured a period correct motor for the Associated RC10 I picked up. Soon to be a shelf queen like all my others. Well...maybe not soon. I've been working on the Tamiya TT02R Petronas RCF for 2 years...haha

You cats might appreciate this as well. I collect and restore vintage NIB / NIP RC motors. Like full on Toy Story 3 restorations. I try and cherry out the boxes, packaging, and instructions as much as possible for, in some cases, a 20-30 year old motor. In this case, I went as far as finding the correct sized staples to replace the 10.5mm Japanese staples. Go figure, 'Murka staples are bigger at 12mm!
This resto did not take long as there was no box and just a beat up bag. The cardboards were in really good shape. Just had to get some creases out. Currently on the hunt for a Tamiya Type S Motor NIB. I got a guy in Japan that finds stuff like this for me.
