Why buttons and knobs on the center console like a car?

I daily drive mine, take it on road trips, and haul stuff around. That LC seems nice but I’m betting my 4g is more comfortable on a 400 mile road trip day with ventilated seats and coil sprung suspension than that.

So while I’m sure it fills a mining truck niche, I’m not a mine operator.

could you imagine being able to get a tacoma with an actual front bumper on it like this. Looks like you'd be able to sit on it all the way around it! How sweet would that be?! Dang NHTSA and EPA ruins it for us.

 

And people make fun of the air dam or 4runner mustache….

 

Bad control placement? The off-road dials and buttons up there at the top of the windshield on the 3rd gen where low-angle winter sun makes them impossible to see.

 

yeah those are goofy too. Not sure what freaks toyota about just putting them on the dash. At least their not on the steering wheel with the other 100 buttons lol

my favorite thing about it is the ultra high seating position relative to the window seal, dash and steering wheel and the ultra high ceiling in it. my Tacoma feels like the cab is squashed like a pancake.

id buy it just for the motor if I didnt need to pull boats.

 

So somehow the 3g base truck was okay with less power but the 4g base truck with less power isn’t?

the only difference in the 4th gen SR and SR5 is one line of detune computer code for $5,000 or have y'all figured out that the part differences are yet?

 

I used to use the handbrake on steep slippery [read icy] inclines when backing down to preload the rear brakes and allow me to modulate the gas and steering without locking up the front steering tires. Worked fantastically.

 

I just like hearing that loud ratchet sound and seeing that physical brake up in the air after I rip it up when my truck is dangling off a boat ramp near 8 feet of water. You completely loose that confidence with an electric emergency brake button/tiny red light.

 

please tell me the 4th gen e brake doesn't automatically engage when you put it in park does it? like my wife's Highlander....

 

It would be a better conversation if you actually knew the difference between the sr and sr5
