Switching to a ground tent (I am helping at a summer camp and will need to be using the truck to haul stuff around)

 

Looking for a set (or possibly two) of Seat jackers for a 2nd gen (my understanding is the 3rd gen is the same). At 6'2" the Tacoma has not been bad but I've read they make a difference on longer drives. Anyone have a set I can buy or maybe try out in the Seattle/Everett area?

 

I’m 6’2” and yes get them. I can stretch my legs all the way out and barely reach the firewall on long road trips. Nobody that has a Tacoma that hops in mine complains about them. You sit back more on your ass than on hamstrings. Way more comfortable.

I'm also 6'2" so this sounds great, I've always hated the seat positioning (and especially lack of adjustability) in the Tacoma. On the other hand, offroad, I want to get as high as possible to see over the hood, do the seat jackers put you down farther into the seat? That would be a no go for me... with there was an option that was adjustable or that I could swap an FJ cruiser seat in easily...

 

no they raise the front of the seat with a "block" that raises the front mounts like id say an inch or so been a while since I put them in my truck. being 6'3 it made the comfort level way better, I'm about to sell my Tacoma, and its one of the few things I plan on pulling off my Tacoma before selling, back in a cheap baby SUV, until the fall, when the wife and I both have bonuses and pay bumps coming in, and her contract gets renegotiated.

 

If I sit up all the way my head touches the headliner. I lean my seat back so my shoulder is almost centered on the seatbelt adjuster to make me the right height. I have a Sport so I don’t see shit anyways out on the trail.

 

If you remove those goofy patches you will gain at least 1/2" more clearance

 

I put risers under the rear seat mounts too. I just bought new bolts and some washers from the hardware store.

When I go offroad I also sit on one of those garden kneeling pads to give me a little more visibility.

 

Consider shipping to the Bay Area? I’m assuming these fit an 06, I wouldn’t use the front missing piece anyway so that’s a non issue.

 

Don't be jealous... I have some extras that we can stick to your interior.
