You can also try a little saucer of beer. Some insects are attracted to beer and will drown in it. Sorry if already mentioned...

Kinda ok for slugs, if not raining much. I am not sure for caterpillar types.

Finished up burning brush piles today.
If it does not rain tonight, I will collect it tomorrow.

Ash below is from Saturday, so it is cold.
It will go on the fruit trees.

Do not use any petroleum based fire starters if you plan to use ash in the garden. Also, no painted wood, no pressure treated wood, etc.

This is pine and privet bushes, from trimmings around the property.

What Zone are you in? This is for Zones 8 thru 10.
It is a freestone, which I like. Second one is a bit hardier, but also a hot weather peach.
Both are self pollinating. First is a yellow peach, second is a white peach.
I have 1 peach and 2 nectarines. Prepare to spray and prune peach and nectarine religiously. They are prone to red rust and fungus. I have lost a year of peaches to fungus before, if summer had too much rain.

Wife found borers attacking the apricot. Will be spraying it and need to get a bag of garlic from Sam's club.
A ring of garlic around the trees keeps the wood borers away. Already tried it on 2 plums, double circles.
Have 12 more trees I need to do it to.

PS garlic needs chill hours in order to sprout. Putting it in the fridge for a week will do it.

Systemic insecticide works also, but makes fruit unusable the year it is used. This is a first time in 8 years we have fruit on the apricot. I want to eat it.
I have organic spray I will use first, then will wrap the trunk with the sticky trap and plant garlic.
We already lost one plum to the borers (and that's when we discovered garlic), I am not taking any chances.

    I hear you.

Does the bar of the soap in the tree crotch work? It worked for us when we lived in OR.

I'vr never heard of it. These borers come 4 to 5 inches off the ground.
    How does soap work?

I guess the rains/water from above wash the soap down the tree and keep the borers out. I can google some links later

    I searched around. Seems like some people - mainly PLUM trees with peach moth borers - had decent luck. One guy specifically said Lava soap. {I know I've had exceptional results so far with some aromatic hand made soap keeping the deer away from my berries and elderberries. No idea how long until they figure that out. (unrelated)}

That said AI says soap not very effective for aggressive borers, or certain types. I guess I would still try it with other bio safe methods.

Got mine in on Good Friday. Have gotten several rains and it’s all been good timing. Believe every seed I planted has germinated. 8 rows corn, 5 rows beans, 2 rows sunflowers and a row of okra. 24 tomatoes, 16 squash and zucchini and 4 jalapeños. Will have to get a fresh pic. Everything growing well except for two tomatoes in a corner that holds water. Need to fix that, level it but forgot.
