Hey there, I would like your honest opinion on the upTOP Overland KILO roof rack. I personally love it because it's made in America, formed sides so it doesn't look wavy no matter how the material is, and it's the quietest roof rack I've had. It's also one of the most affordable roof racks. Let me know!

How has this held up for you? I'm in the market, and am curious how the steel crossbars and mount feet are working out.

Additionally, I noted that you're not selling them anymore. Any backstory there that a potential buyer should be concerned about?

There’s a thread over on Tacoma 4g about their products. Major quality issues and seems customer service isn’t good. Check out the post, the guy has major rust on a bunch of the components. It’s a bummer because I really like the kilo roof rack and was going to order until I saw the rusty pics.

Thanks for the info, @Bronzebeast. I reached out to UpTop Overland to see if they’ve been able to fix this in production, or if I could get mine made without cut-out part numbers. More after I hear back…

Here’s the post if anyone else is interested:

Update: I reached out to Up Top Overland via email and they responded within an hour:

"Thank you for sharing this link [to the original 4G post] with us. We want to ensure that we are offering the best quality period. While we do laser cut the part numbers on several components, we now apply a base (primer) powder coat before the final black powder coat is applied. This is to aid with corrosion and rust. Since we have been applying the primer base, we have not seen or heard of a single case of rust or corrosion."

I've already dropped my order, and I'm still excited for it to show up. I'll create a thread when I get it with a report once it arrives and I get it installed.
