    Ahh the easement. I learned that here, the city owns the first 11 feet from the street. Yet they won't take care of it and I pay taxes on it.

    It’s usually in the fine print :eek: In Michigan it’s defined from the center line of the road and varies from, township, village, and city. You don’t own the sidewalk but are required to keep it clear of snow. Your not paying taxes on that property, you’re lot corners or pin is farther back from the road. It’s done that way for the “common good “ of the development. Utility companies run everything in that easement, and don’t need to deal with a difficult homeowner not wanting to upgrade/ repair / maintain the utility because it will affect their beautiful lawn ,rosebush , fence. ALWAYS know where YOUR lot corners are, and call Miss Digg !
