“It also lets you fit one of the company's red or blue oiled air filters in place of the stock unit.”

They do increase flow over paper filters. A bit. Usually. Never mind the fact that the oil fouls sensors and that they don't filter nearly as well.

K&N has done a masterful job at convincing people they're somehow "better."

Actually they are more slightly more restrictive unless you compare them to an insanely dirty paper filter. That said, it's the surface area that counts

I picked one up, just trying to find some time to install it + the JB4 :)

FYI the dyno chart on that article is not reflective of the CAI. That chart is pulled from the JB4 page, so it's based on their piggyback tune (JB4). The CAI page (which is on their site) was just made available late last week when I picked it up, and it states dyno charts will be available soon.

I'm optimistic and trust the brand. Years ago I owned a Q50 Red Sport running their JB4 + intake and it was flawless. The JB4 on the Tacoma claims up to 60 WHP but I only have 91 octane in California, so I'm sure my butt dyno will still notice some power increase. I mainly ordered the CAI so I can hear the turbo more (I don't really believe any CAI will provide power increase alone) and it's a plus that it was cheaper than some of the other CAIs for sale. Their video clip of the CAI under load doesn't sound as loud as the K&N or SXTH but we'll see.

And the best part is they’re based in CA but won’t ship any of their products to customers who live in CA. Make it make sense please

Burger tune is well known and respectable tuning is the bmw world. You guys are probably now just hearing about it since we just now got turbo engines in the Toyota cars and trucks.

Yup they’ve been around a while. Still prefer a ECU flash tune and companies that ship their products to all 50 states. They’re missing out on major sales in their own state they do business in
