What are your experiences and what do you have in mind?
That said I don't really know any places at the moment; and I think jobs are getting tougher to find right now.
    Best of luck to you.

Check with a Temp Agency and see what they have available for your qualifications. I had real good luck going that route when I first moved to O-side.

NASSCO is almost always hiring, they have a variety of jobs available. Shipbuilding is a hot topic for the Navy now so it should be pretty stable if you can get in

Doing a toyhauler instead? The sxs is definitely easier to pack than trying to drag out a Jeep.

Yeah thats for sure, that's why I got a 1 ton, has more capacity than a 3/4 ton and the only difference between a 2500 and 3500 Ram is the 3500 has leaf springs but the 2500 is linked suspension. Seems kinda odd since if you use the appropriate panhard bar a linked setup should be fine but whatever...I plan on putting in lighter springs front and rear and adding airbags so I have a good ride when unloaded, it is quite stiff! And the fact that it has shocks that are bone stock, they arent doing a whole lot at this point.

I want to get some kings for it if I can find a good deal somewhere. Kings always seem to ride so smooth Id love to go that route, the stock shocks have left the chat and are only there for looks they are no longer working as dampers at this point (225K later!)
If anyone knows of a place to get Kings for a decent price please lemme know, I desperately need a set.

Same here in Vista, it was 100 in the shop today, fawking brutal!! So hot here I was getting sick working too much and had to take a break. Id rather the heat slowly ramps up rather then full send right out of the gate!!
Still hot as fuck inside the house.

Are there any easy solo trails I could take my truck on and not need any recovery gear, or a buddy in the socal area? I'm in the grantville area

I've never been offroading before in my own vehicle, and would like to start. My trucks on stock wheels with a 6112/5160 2.5ish lift.

There are plenty of forest service roads around and a few in the Palomar mtn area and Down South in the Otay mtn area

Note: I am refering to San Diego County .... we have a Grantville Neighborhood....

Pine valley trail is also very mild. Otay mountain is very well graded.

I'll have to check these out. I'm here for work for another month and I should be working less. So I wanted to do some light offroading before I head back to maine

Another good place to offroad is Corral Canyon OHV. If the Los Pinos fire tower lookout is open, they accept visitors. They have a sign-in registry for visitors. If you go, don't block the gate, and you will have to walk/hike a bit to the tower - it is worth it. If you continue west on the road, you will have to eventually turn back as the trail down in the canyon becomes too technical. Go back to the staging area and take the eastern or southern trails. It is a loop and manageable in high clearance.

Another point of interest: about 400 feet south of the OHV entrance is a cut-across point of the famous Pacific Crest Trail that starts at the Mexico border and goes up to Canada border. The trail goes under the nearby bridge but it comes close to the road and you can walk a section of it just to say you’ve been on it.

There are quite a few, otay truck trail isnt too bad down by the border. A little rutted in some spots. You could do Black Mountain Truck Trail as well.

I'm up in Oceanside if you ever want to have someone come along with you. I have the same setup as you, just not stock wheels.
