Don't over fill like I did. I use 80w90 in my diffs t case and transmission
I don't think it's the recommend fluid but it does work.

Just needs gussets and to finish welding everything.

Not the most beautiful but has enough penetration should never release.

Really basic design. Painted it, but going to go back and fix a few of the welds.
    IMG_5087.jpg

Need to pull the rear bumper off and reinforce the backside. The Coastal bumper is not strong enough for this kind of load on the corner there.

yes, I have some steel plate will do something like that. Also think i want to cut some off the bottom. And box in the other side.
Been too windy to weld on the driveway, and now too rainy.

    Rear Differential

Doing the oil change found excessive metal chunks on the magnet. The diff is operating good. Doesn't get too hot, no sounds everything tight.
Put fresh 75w90 GL5 redline in it. Ran down the road about 250km.

drained the diff again wiht the intention of reusing it. But its full of metal.
    https://youtube.com/shorts/y5hbfAzp430

Attempt to filter the oil with a coffee filter.
    IMG_5098.jpg

I printed a flat bottom coffee filter holder, Works better but still very slow. Probably filters 1L in about 2 hours. this oil is too far gone. Now its more of an experiment just to see if its possible to filter.

Bore scoped the diff. Dont see anything that would cause that much metal no broken teeth.
    https://youtu.be/yj2Ya2NafTw

In the mean time the metal sank to the bottom of the bucket, with a magnet you can see how much was really there.

Next will pull the axles and 3rd member.

I was able to get the axles out without taking the parking brake cables off. Just unbolted the retainer and it was able to pull out.

Driver side seal wasnt leaking, but the metal spring fell out. Will call the dealer monday and get a price for a new one, might be able to put that spring back. Some metal sludge oil but not too much metal.

    IMG_5106.jpg IMG_5104.jpg

Passenger side was loaded with metal. can see it all the way down the tube.
