I have the last gen Morimoto xbs and if I had it to do over again would 100% go with the oem ones.

If the new Morimoto's were 2/3 the cost of stock I would consider it, but at the same price I'm looking at the OEM myself.

I thought he said he had them for 4yrs LMAO I read wrong..... 4yrs for ebay lights is great don't get me wrong, but for the same reasons mentioned above I'd never go to an ebay or any sort of cost saver like that, I originally was loving the alpha rex u til I heard their claims, especially like discussed they may look awesome but if there not gonna do the job i'm paying 1K+ for why spend it? Mostly felt convinced of Morimotos after reading this thread and the light thread everyone's been tagging, genuinely seem pretty reliable as far as being a known, and well constructed brand so I really think you're right and I should just go with them, my issue with O
Heard, any particular reason for this? and to clarify this is previous Gen Morimotos? not the most recent? Just clarifying and asking why so I can further evaluate before I make a decision

The old XB's were shit. The new Evo's are incredible. Build quality and output rival them in a BIG way. Very glad I made the upgrade. Morimoto also stands by their warranty. I had my XB's warranted due to frosted lenses and the replacement was as painless as can be. Got the Evo's XPEL'd before install so they should stay clean. Would absolutely recommend the new Evo's over the oem led, but I never much cared for the look of the oem leds. Had these new ones not come out though, I probably would have ended up with the oem's as well because the build quality and output on the XB's did not hold up. Completely different world with the new ones. They truly feel like an oem product.

The Superchargers were installed day 1 with mine and the output is soooo good. With properly aligned headlights, all the cars out there now with factory led, and with how clean these are, I highly doubt there will ever be a cop that will pull you over and test them to confirm if they're illegal. Just don't aim them like a jackass.

No, not blinding anyone lol! I have them aimed correctly. I seriously doubt I'll have any law issues with these. My plan is to pair them up with my Baja Squadron fogs that are still in my Runner. Those too are advertised as "off road use only". Had them in the Runner for about four years with no issues. They're also incredible lights!

I have had no contacts with support and have had no reasons for customer service. So I cannot say anything about that. As you alluded to, while people can say what they want to, about some things being "better" than others, to me, the real thing that matters, is reviews from people who have owned the product. that being said though, sometimes, one just takes a chance when they see what looks like a good deal. that is what I did when I bought the headlights that I did. As it turned out, it has been a great deal all around. Sure it might not have worked out that way, but it has just as good of a chance to not have worked out if I had spent over $1000 on other brand headlights, such as I saw when I was researching it. So people are going to do what they are going to do, and that is ok, as long as they are content in their own minds.

Awesome! As far as aiming is that something my stock SR5 needs to worry about? i'd assume not due to no lift or any other modifications to affect their factory trajectory, if so tho let me know as Ill make sure I properly align them during my install

I'd imagine there will be a test and some adjustment required. It should be printed in the material they come with. I've seen things like "at 25 ft, project on wall so bottom of beam is 46'' off the ground" etc. etc.

Aiming is even more critical on these lights and is not done during the installation but after, and preferably on a machine called a beam setter. Do not expect them to be perfect out of the box and do expect to have to make minor adjustments if you're carrying a load or not. Finding a shop that actually has a beam setter and knows how to use it is next to impossible. Some Porsche and VW dealers have them but very few others and the shining on a wall method is notoriously inaccurate as it's so hard to find an actual level section of flat concrete in front of a wall 25 feet away. Stern has a lot on alignment on his site.

The trim level shouldn't matter for aiming, but if your truck has the turn signal that is the DRL you will need to disable the DRL in the headunit menu after installing so you don't get hyperflash turn signals.

The alignment out of the box was much better than the XB's, but you will still need to adjust them. It's very easy to do.

Again, my experience is with the last gen of xbs, not the new ones. That being said, I do not think they were worth the 1200 price. I went with them due to the general good reviews I saw on here of them, the absence of any chrome, and the amber led driving light. The light output is ok, but not really any better than the stock halogens in my opinion. Also, not real pleased that they are already getting cloudy after just a couple years. My main problem though was with the fit of the lights in the fenders. There are large gaps that just look bad. It doesn't really affect them I guess, but it looks like ass. So anyway I wish I had just went with oems or just not spent the money on them. Maybe the new ones are great, but I wouldn't run that risk at the same price as the oem ones.:notsure:

They warranted mine out and replaced with the new Evo's due to clouded lenses. If yours are less than 5y old, they should with you as well.

I did, however, find them to be about 3x as bright as the stock halogens. My DD Elite fogs were brighter than the XB's though.. and the new Supercharged Evo's are almost as bright by themselves as the XB's + the Elite's together. Super impressed with the EVO's. Build quality is oem-esque. Much much better product all around than the XB.
