    Hi again VicNic3!

Did you actually purchase that kit with the bezel from The Parts Department on ebay?

Folded my tonneau cover and went through sliding rear window and squeezed between headliner.

    Vic,

I installed the same brakelight, but I broke trim ring. I finally have one on the way through the kit number we talked about. Thanks again, I agree it's a much nicer option and hopefully leak free!

I like the light it goes great with quicksand! I mounted it and thought I set the switch for strobe function but it's not working. Is there a way to get to the switch without removing the housing? I'm not gonna go there what a pita!

Soooooo... it rained yesterday and my truck leaked through the brake light. I called my local Toyota dealership today and they told me the recall EXPIRED literally YESTERDAY!! (I called twice and spoke to two different folks, they both looked me up by my VIN and said the same.)

    Pretty impressive actually...

So all that being said - I would certainly really appreciate it if any of y'all out there have the latest recommendations for how to replace this myself, and what products you purchased that worked well (and where to find them)?

Since this is such a large and years-old thread, can we in the community put together a best products and best practices for anyone like me?

    Thanks!!

I would call corporate and discuss it with someone there. They may well make an exception for you. If not then you can go look at the rest of this thread and you'll get some good ideas I think.

Pretty sure you can just get the new gasket from the parts department. I have a shell so I didn’t get mine replaced and they said I could get it down the road if I ever took it off.

And this is all you have to do.

I removed my Cap to get this done by the cutoff, two days ago. I also had to move a tall direct-vent fireplace to a beach front home that required me to drive on sand, so I made the most of removing my Leer 100XQ and killing two birds.
