I have about 100K on my 2015 with the 6 spd manual.

I have scoured the internet but cannot find an OEM fluid for the transmission.

Is there one? Toyota makes a straight 75w "manual transmission oil", but the OM calls for a GL4 75w90 oil and I cannot find a Toyota version.

I know there are tons of (good) after market options, but want to use OEM fluid if I can find out what it is and where to get it...

    Thanks in advance.

Good luck finding it stocked at any dealers as they just use whatever brand gl4 75w90 fluid they have. Ebay would be best bet. I personally run Redline MT-90

You need to go to Ebay if you want GL4 Toyota Fluid.
I'd personally recommend Redline MT-90 or Amsoil.
But the Toyota OE part is 08885-81596

I can't even find it on Ebay with those search parameters.
Does Toyota no longer make a GL4 tranny fluid?

It's probably stupid that I am a stickler for this, I will probably end up with the MT-90 but if I can find the OEM stuff...

Yup - and none of them ship that to the USA.

Odd that it isn't available here...

I'm an OEM fluid guy myself but I changed mine out for MT90 at 15k and it shifts so much better especially when it's cold.

There's a Ford manual trans fluid that alot of people like too but I can't remember the number.

Another MT90 vote. That's the way to do it. You need 2 qts, the drain and fill crush washers, and a hand pump.

I'm certain we can all appreciate your desire to stay with OEM, but as others have echoed here, when I got my 2014 (manual transmission), I drove it for about 10,000 miles (if I recall correctly) and was never really happy with how notchy the transmission felt. The truck had about 12,000 miles on it and was a year old so I'm sure it was Toyota fluid.
When I changed it the first time, I used Lucas GL4 and noticed an immediate improvement that got better over time.
The Lucas (GL4) is hard to find as well and I've since switched to the Redline flavor. Trust me, it's better than the Toyota fluid in my opinion.
I wouldn't knock myself out for the Toyota stuff in this instance. Just my two cents.

Toyota is not in the fluid making business. They provide specs to vendors, including Toyota branded packaging and the low bid wins. Oil filters and many other consumables as well. So, the correct GL and viscosity is what you really care about, not the brand.

Ford XT-M5-QS is what I have logged in my old Miata Solo II file. It was a SVO 'product', so many dealers didn't have it OTC. I suppose the PN could have superseded since I hung up my helmet, but that stuff was awesome. I'd used OE, Royal Purple, MT 90, then the Ford magic. It really made a notable difference. When you consider the Miata transmissions were parts bin bits designed for trucks, the old snick snick shifting was pretty amazing.

It's likely available from all kinds of sources now.

I'm a big fan of AcDelco syncromesh, especially the white bottled, friction modified fluid but I find it's a bit too thin for these trucks. Feels great around town but on the highway it feels like it thins out way too much. Plus Syncromesh doesn't last very long before it starts to get crunchy
