I have hydros on all 4 corners. They’re loud as hell. Constantly clicking as you’re loading and unloading the suspension through fast stuff.

Guess I need to turn the radio up.

I'm sure all the extremely loud music in my youth may help in this situation.

However... my wife is not deaf like I am... she doesn't hear them either.

I'm sure there are cheaper options. My quick search came to king and fox and I think they were $400 per can.

yes, fox DSCs. No, about an inch to the bumper.

yours being long travel, I would think the bumps are engaged a lot less frequently than a MT setup.

Interesting. That makes me want to check mine and compare. Then again I would have to cut out a lot of the apron to clear the 35's past the point of my current max uptravel. I'm sure the CV's could handle fine. iirc at full bump they're at less of an angle than they are at full droop.

@unstpible perry bumps showed up today. Excited to swap those out and see how they compare to the durobumps.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Even with LT, the way the bumps get mounted to the frame, the LCA only moves up about 1/2~3/4 of an inch before it hits the bumpstop.

Threw in some Bilstein 5100’s with OME 881’s and the driver side spacer for the Taco lean, also removed the sway bar and man it’s like a new truck! Now time to take Frank in for new paint here in the next few months.

I love seeing 3d printed stuff make its way into the auto world. I'm curious how those will hold up. Really cool.

They have a lot to show for the details on their site, if anyone is interested:

Welp. Chasing a bit of a phantom power steering leak. First fill dripped all over my carport, swore a lot, cleaned the carport, filled it back up to find the leak, and... no leaking. So that's fun. Refilled it Tuesday, still no leak.

Did the transfer case & front diff oil, too. God almighty, I used to think nothing smelled worse than diesel oil. Every time I pop a differential open I relearn this lesson.

    Transfer Case.jpg

Reciever/drier is on, and AC loop is buttoned back up. Whoever put the lug nuts on previously really pounded them on with the air wrench. Still, penetrating oil & a breaker bar got them free. Naturally, wheels were seized. Rubber mallet solved that problem... eventually.

    New Reciever_Drier.jpg

Did the pry bar check & the service manual check with a dial indicator. Both showed LBJs are good! Under one thousandth up and down on both sides. I'll keep checking them every time the wheels come off.

Naturally, things immediately went sideways while I was putting the torque on the lug nuts (I always get them hand tight in the air then give it the old clicky-clicky on the ground.)

    Snapped Stud.jpg

Wonderful sinking feeling when all resistance suddenly vanishes.

I'll be honest - I just don't want to deal with putting a new stud on. I'm going to have a mechanic deal with it since I have an appointment already to get the AC system charged.

Great work! Why not vacuum and charge the system yourself with free loaner tools and refrigerant / oil at the LAPS?

Same reason I'm not replacing the stud myself. I don't want to. Plus if for some reason it won't hold vacuum, they're better at figuring out what's broken than I am.

And even if I wanted to, all of my wrenching time right now is going into fixing the coolant leak on my brother's A4.

Put the tacoma on the flex ramp the other day. No sway bar. Didn't push it too much, didn't even get to rub the driver rear tire so clearly had more room... lol.

Had the AC charged today. And immediately there are a bunch of short hisses from behind the glovebox, and the AC got steadily less powerful as I drove home.

I gotta admit, hard not to feel defeated, even though the compressor seems good - it blew ice cold when I got in at the shop and for a good chunk of the drive home. They did put a UV dye, so I suppose I need to get a black light and start hunting a radioactive-pee glow. I'll also try to clean the evaporator drain. Maybe I'm lucky and that's the only problem left.
