Can I get some reassurance on these choices?

I am going to need some new tires soon and thinking what better time to get some new wheels too. I'm looking at the Method bronze 305 and the Goodyear Wrangler UT. I mostly drive highway with off-road being in the desert and camping in the mountains. I was thinking of going up in tire size. This is what I'm thinking of doing but want to make sure everything is compatible. I am still rocking the OEM tires and stock height. Let me know if I'm on the right track or if I completely screwed this up I did run this through grok and it said everything looked good but recommended the 25mm offset.Screenshot_20250430-130456.png Screenshot_20250430-130448.png

It’s gonna be tight in there with a 5.75” backspace.

You recommend just sticking with 16s?

A 265/75/16 and a 265/70/17 are nearly identical in their overall measurements. Either tire size will easily fit with factory wheels. The problem is the backspacing on the wheels you've selected. They will cause rubbing. That wheel in either a 16" or 17" will work if they don't stick out so far from the axles. I'd get whichever is cheaper between 16 or 17" wheels or tires.

I have the Goodyear UT's on my 07 Tacoma in 265/75/16. They've been on my truck for 4 years and about 40,000 miles. I liked them at 1st. There is still a lot of tread, but the rubber is getting hard and they are really slick now on wet pavement. They have progressively gotten louder too.

Even with that much tread I'm going to replace them sometime this summer. I wouldn't buy them again.

Thanks for the info on the tires, I'll look for something else. I'm just planning and trying to figure out what I want, what would fit and look good.

IMO 17s. There are more tires choices. If you want an even with the fender look. 265/70/17 on a 17x8 0 offset is a very common set up with no issues.

Thanks, that helps. I've never messed with wheels on any vehicles and always kept it stock. This is my first dive into this world

If buying wheels 17" is the way to go. I would recommend Method bead grip wheels. So when you decide to air down you will have better success of not de beading a tire. I run the 701's (not the HD). I really like how well the valve stem is protected on these. You can also join "OnX offroad" and with an elite member ship you can get 25% off Method as well as deals on other brands of products. There are also a host of YouTubers with discounts for the OnX membership. I purchased my membership on a Black Friday deal with a 50% off for the first year.
